Bristol Broadmead store closing 27 Dec - SA told me they were informed this morning. Quite alot of DVDs, Cd's etc there so may soon give more than 10% discount to shift them. I got adhesive computer labels there today for 50p a pack less 30% so 35p each pack.

I think the staff will get the bargains.

I doubt that prices will fall much lower than they have already, more likely they will sell excess stock to other stores, or to companies that deal in returns, those places where you can buy a pallet of stock blind.

  • I was in there yesterday, and the lady that served me said that they had been told Boxing day would be their last paid day. There were lots and lots of empty shelves. Sweets and clothes were more or less full price though, so lots of them left.

On the other woolies thread staff have said their stores have received POS for 60%, 70%, 80% and 90% off so i'm assuming there could possibly be more bargains to be had. Of course i am not expecting x boxes, psp's etc...they will not go so cheap but certainly other bargains.

Hmm I wonder how many staff will go in Boxing Day if they know they are out of a job a day later as stores close on 27th Dec - not sure I would. that's nothing against the staff - just why put yourself out and ruin the length of your Xmas break when you have been let down so badly by your employers.

Failing to turn up on the last day could threaten any redundancy pay out that they may be entitled too, so they would be idiots to not go in.
