Contact trading standards and citizens advice to find out what your rights are. You can then quote them when taking item back.0

brought o fifa 2009 psp package for £125.99 after discount friday am
got home unpackaged to charge up only to find the actual console had been visably ised and damaged
took the whole package and receipt back to the same store friday pm
only to be told as we are in administration we have a sign saying can not refund oh she has not got one up here,
i said i do not want a refund just a replacement they did not have any in so i would have to phone sony and get them to replace and gave me sony and woolworths customer services number and said if i have any problems with sony to phone woolworths customer services
phoned sony today who said it was down to woolworths to replace the console and if they did not they could swap a refurbeshed one for a cost of £65:eek:
so i phoned woolworths customer services back and explained the whole thing and got told to phone stores and see if they have any in and get it swapped over great a....
phoned the same store i got it from and asked if they had any in store, yes we have so again i explianed the situiation and what i had just been told by customer services and gave the lady who i spoke to name she said one moment i will just check with th manager
came back and said no we can not do this to my reply i got a bit upset and said look i brought what i thought was a new psp and it has clearly been used you have passed me back and forth and its down to you to replace
she put me on hold again
then came back and said i have just spoken to tony one of the administrators who has said under no circimstances to refund or replace the console
what i would like to know is what to do next i have a used psp that cost me £125 there was no sign saying no refunds as we are in administration and i dont want a refund anyway just a replacement:o
I would advise you to conatct your local trading standards (ring your county council its one of there departments) as regardless of the trading circumstances of woolworths the item you were sold was sold as "new" and is faulty, therefore they have a legal obligation to replace or repair. I wouldn't bother speaking to woolworths as the staff have been shat upon from a big height, so are not going to go out of there way to do anything about it, and to be honest who can blame them.#
Hope this helps.:o0 -

fishingcinema - Woolworths went into Administration around the 28th/29th November. Signs were in my store on the 1st December explaining - "no refunds only exchanges if in stock blah blah blah". Anything you buy from them now is a big risk in terms of faults, repairs etc.
I would try another Woolworths and see if you can exchange it or take a credit note and buy something else to its value..........0 -

The OP has a right to a refund if its faulty , no matter what the signs say0 -
Did you buy it with a credit card? If so contact your credit card company since they are jointly liable and will probably be able to get the money back.0

no way!!! lack of interest! i could hardly move in there on saturday! thats such a shame, i was going in again tomorrow
ill be sad to see it go, it was an important landmark if nothing else, what will we call woolies bus stop now?
and no im not making a joke of these people losing their jobs, i really do feel for them losing out so close to chrismas, and i know how scarce jobs are round here x0 -
Was in Bristol Whiteladies Woolies today (only a small store) when I overheard a member of staff say they were getting fresh stock in on Weds - they have to clear the warehouses too, so keep an eye out for your local store restocking the shelves. Hope that helps if you're still holding out for something.:dance:0
