  • Whilst I can understand everyone's joy at the possibilty of sales and getting a bargain, let's also spare a thought for all the full-time Woolies staff who will spent Christmas worrying about where the next pay packet is coming from and whether they will be able to pay the rent/mortage come the New Year.

It's a sad situation and I am so mad at our MP's who constantly talk of "helping people through these difficult times" while they will be spending X-Mas in their 6-bedroom villas with no money worries.

Absolutely - I'm sure everyone feels the same way about the employees of Woolworths. However, many people already have been made redundant outside the Woolworths workforce recently, or are about to be made redundant, and are already worrying about whether they will be able to pay the rent/mortgage over the coming months.

So its no surprise there are more and more folk out there looking for bargains this year.

As I work for Woolworths I have personally seen with my own eyes the 90% off POS. Why would they send it in if we wernt to use it??

Im trying to give you all a heads up but if you dont want to know (and others call it a joke) I wont bother, good luck with your bargins

In a previous post, I've mentioned that I've previously worked under Hilco who are managing Woolies on behalf of the administrators.

You will have received a package of signage that should have the following...

    10%, 15%, 20%,25%,30%,33%, 40%,50%,60%,70%,75%,80% & 90% off

The 90% is usually used on the penultimate or final day but can also be used on stock that is showing no movement (ie no sales) at all but is very rarely used in total liquidations. Usually if there is no final offers for the stock, it is sold in a "box sale". This is where they will allow you to fill a basket for a fiver / tenner depending on the value.

    Hi all,

I am going to be in Peterborough tomorrow and wondered if Woolworths was still open?

I am looking to buy some much needed baby/toddler outfits.

    Thanks.

Woolworths is still open but unfortunately Peterborough itself has been closed down due to a lack of interest.

  • im am so annoyed with woolworths its unbelivable
brought o fifa 2009 psp package for £125.99 after discount friday am

got home unpackaged to charge up only to find the actual console had been visably ised and damaged

took the whole package and receipt back to the same store friday pm

only to be told as we are in administration we have a sign saying can not refund oh she has not got one up here,
i said i do not want a refund just a replacement they did not have any in so i would have to phone sony and get them to replace and gave me sony and woolworths customer services number and said if i have any problems with sony to phone woolworths customer services

phoned sony today who said it was down to woolworths to replace the console and if they did not they could swap a refurbeshed one for a cost of £65:eek:

so i phoned woolworths customer services back and explained the whole thing and got told to phone stores and see if they have any in and get it swapped over great a....

phoned the same store i got it from and asked if they had any in store, yes we have so again i explianed the situiation and what i had just been told by customer services and gave the lady who i spoke to name she said one moment i will just check with th manager

came back and said no we can not do this to my reply i got a bit upset and said look i brought what i thought was a new psp and it has clearly been used you have passed me back and forth and its down to you to replace
she put me on hold again

then came back and said i have just spoken to tony one of the administrators who has said under no circimstances to refund or replace the console

what i would like to know is what to do next i have a used psp that cost me £125 there was no sign saying no refunds as we are in administration and i dont want a refund anyway just a replacement:o
