    We're hoping to be able to buy a place before the wedding, but if we can't I think that is exactly what we'll do. Just need a place we actually like to come up!

    I have been in a similar situation previsouly and when I did ti I couldn't just take my name off the joint account - it was all or nothing. Also sometimes if you tell the bank you have split up then they freeze the account automatically.

    Getting your wage moved to your own account is a good idea. I'd do that now.

    I know what you mean. Thats why I want my own house before I get married I have find someone first lol! I have a picture of house on my notice board thats what keeps me motivated. A bit lost without the internet at the mo. I wish my laptop would arrive soon lol!

    I have some savings still but spent a lot moving out over the last month, i want to keep saving though and then if i decide to buy my own place or meet someone (in a long long time!) i will have cash behind me still.

  • Hi everyone, I wanted to update. I am now much happier on my own and I a now good friends with my ex. I have made god friends with my house mates and they have all been fab. So I have decided to do a few things with my spre cash and now am planning a trip of a lifetime to Canada so I am now hoppinoverto the Savers Board to rack progress of my savings. I want to thank EVERYONE for their support, advice nd good wishes and I think I am living proof if you are in an unhappy in a relationship you can still be happy on your own. Life is what you make it and you don't need another half to make you whole. This isan exciting journey.

    Sometimes ou can be friends with them on you own terms but some you have to let go and maybe later when the air has cleared you can remember all the good times. Lifes an experience as they say.
