    Morning!

Ive got couple of days off (i didnt want to taint my birthday with work!) which is lovely! Thank you all for noticing its my birthday! Stupid boyf asks last night - 'when is it your birthday?'. Not even a card from him!

Scuzz - I know how you feel about work, I could have exploded yesterday as it was so busy and I was desperately trying to clear the backlog when others were just sitting around doing nowt! Then the bus home had the audacity to turn up half an hour late, then broke down 15mins walk away from home. I got home and sat in front of the TV fuming and then just went to bed.

Johanne - The house looks great! I hope it works out for you, good luck!

Plans for today are pretty much none, the cat woke me up by stamping on me and meowing at me because she must have thought id over slept (bless her - at least she helps!) so ill do some cleaning and go to Tesco and buy some milk. Im desperately hoping that the vouchers turn up today from work because I could then go shopping and treat myself.

Im thinking of finally getting a slowcooker because im sick of cooking when I get home from work and for work, so it might be easier to chuck stuff in and leave it knowing ill have a nice meal when I get home! On that note I might go and check the mail!

Hope you all have a nice day!

    Happy Birthday JW!

Might be my cfs but isn't it Wednesday 11th today? Somebody tell me it was Tuesday yesterday! Have tried TV but no clue there either

Have the day to myself today as oh and dd have gone to sunny blackpool to bring all her stuff home as she has moved back in with us for a while (Moggins - children are like boomarangs for the first few years, they do occasionally bounce back home for a while ;)) It is lovely to have her back as I have missed her so much but not in the circumstances she came home in (brokenhearted)

Will be doing an inventory of the food left today and updating January grocery challenge. Even with one extra to feed we still seem to be on target :j so one less thing to worry about.

Managed to get a copy of the Fanny Farmer cookbook for 99p on ebay, I have been looking for this one for years as it is the cookbook that is used by the Tightwad gazette author. Just going through all the cookie recipes now.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

    Good morning all
It's nice to see some good news isn't it!
    Happy birthday, Jo
Glad you had a good night, PP
Hope you get the house, Johanne
and hi to everyone else too!

Nothing terribly exciting here, raining outside, so washing in airing cupboard.
d/w emptied & mostly put away (will finish in a minute)
Done my exercise routine for the morning (using Rosemary Conley video)
DS still upstairs, not sure what he's up to - but will probably appear at some point wanting food! He keeps getting distracted by the story he is writing, so I don't see him for ages on end at the moment. But while he is working away happily I am not going to disturb him. It would be nice if he would get as interested in the other subjects, but we can't have everything! At least he is doing maths without too much fuss as well.

    Have a good day!

    Good morning everyone,
Happy birthday JW, hope you have a good day.
Well, so far all ive managed to do is empty the DW, put the first load in the WM and get DS and DD to school, not doing anything the last couple of days has meant it really has caught up with me!!! Luckily i only have one baby here today, so will rope her in to help dusting (why do all toddlers love to dust, and not the older ones!!!!) and hoovering. The bathroom needs a good going over, as does the kitchen and i have more washing than radiators and space on the drier!!! Never mind, starting off with a cup of coffee and a look on here, before i start!!!!
Take care everyone, hope you all have a good day
Breakfast = honny nut shreaded wheat

  • Good Morning All

Just on here for my daily inspiration with a cup of mocha coffee.

House here too is lovely and empty as OH (who normally works from home) has had to go to work today. I love being in an empty house.

Plan of action today - gonna focus on washing today & will start ironing in a min whilst
watching TV - washing basket will be completely emptied again today.

Have got to pop into town to return some boots to Dorothy Perkins then if have time before children come home with start some of the upstairs housework which will give me a head start on tomm.

Will also find time to look at Organised Home website - it has been in my favourites for a while but havnt had chance for a good look.

Lunch will maybe be ham & cheese omlette & dinner tonight is tagletelli (sp) with ham and mushrooms - yes I do have a lot of ham to use up!

Raining here but meant to be lovely & bright later so fingers crossed & will get out for a walk.

    Have a good day.

Waiting for my tesco delivery. OH taken DD1 to a hospital appointment (just some funny moles that need looking at) and she hasn't decided whether or not she wants to live here, but I made it perfectly clear last night what would happen to her (a home as she has no-where/other family to go to). Shes been very nice and helpful this morning and tried very hard to be nice back.

I am in two minds about dinner. A Spag Bol I think - cos all the kids love it and will eat double portions if I let them!

DD3 is starting her dance class tonight and is very excited! She is under the impression that she will be dancing like a proper ballerina after half an hour and I have tried to tell her thats not the case! Hope she not too dissappointed!

House clean (sort of) and WM about to take another load. My really does take a battering! Got some stuff to take to the recyling bins later and put a few bits onto FreeCycle and a LeapFrog play Table to put onto Ebay.

Recieved a letter from the OU this morning about my tutorial times - and its the same time that OH goes to Archery each week! Great. Means I have to do another half hour overtime a week to pay for the babysitter! (plus the hour extra to pay for the kids clubs!)

Never mind - Have a great day all! Happy Birthday JW and hope you fell better later PP and to everyone else!

  • Moning all and hope all is well with you.

Like Essex Girl I often find that reading your posts are my inspiration for the day.

Not at work today. So a whole list of old style jobs to do.

Trying out my OS washing powder mix, soaking very heavily stained stuff in soda crystals and it looks like it may have done the trick! No more expensive cleaning stuffs for me. Got lots of choices for dinner thanks to marked downs in supermarket the other day so it could be anything!

Am going to the bottom of the garden to get into the mess that is laughingly known as the garden shed to see if my old breadmaker is in there. Think I may have the instructions somewhere. It is old tho and from memory I think that the "quick" setting used to take over an hour and a half. Tho thats probably good. Will see if there is a breadmaker thread and look up a few recipes...I shall give it a whirl.

Hope all those out there realise what an inspiring bunch you all are. I have learnt so much.

    Take care,

    J x
