The apples and pears can be chopped up and used in a crumble or pie at a later date - you could cook them first if you'd prefer, but there's no need. (some folks blanch, but I never do).
Spinach, well, it will be a soggy mess when defrosted so only useful cooked so I'd chop to whatever size you'd use it and bag and freeze.
Carrots and onions, as Lilacpixie says chop and freeze, no probs there. ( I don't even freeze on a tray first , just chuck in a bag and if they stick together, just give the bag a thump and they seperate.)
I never have frozen mangoes or kiwis, but I have bought smoothie mixes with them in so they'd probably be fine if you dice them and freeze in a bag, bananas work well with mango and kiwi too for a smoothie.
I don't know about avocado, but I'd suspect you can make something with them and freeze that.
The only thing you can't really freeze is the beansprouts. When they freeze, because they have such a high water content, the cells burst and they go all mushy. I've frozen them in the past, but they are not nice once defrosted.

I have bought large bags of frozen fruit including mangoes and kiwis. I would slice flash freeze on a plate and then put in a freezer bag.0

Peel the mangoes, freeze the flesh (either on a plate, wrapped in plastic or in some kind of container - in my experience just about anything works), then dice into usable sizes and throw into a freezer bag. I've never frozen kiwi fruit but I'd imagine the same process would work.0

Beansprouts = Fill a bowl with water, chuck the sprouts in then stick it in the fridge. They last longer than leaving it in the plastic bag as it is

Money this week is hugely tight, and I need to think about xmas dinner veg, and for the few days after too.
Off to the Co-op in a minute to take advantage of their reductionsand stock up the freezer with veggies.
Question is (and this may sound dim) but what fresh veggies are the best for freezing, and what's the best way to prepare them for freezing?
I've always bought frozen veg, so not entirely sure of the best way to freeze them, I've got plastic cartons and freezer bags.
Sorry for the silly question, I just don't want to buy veggies and waste them because I'm useless at this sort of thing

Just clean them, blanch (stick em in for 1 minute) in boiling water. Coll completely, put in bags and freeze. That's all I do. This works for most root veg and things like cabbage. Mushrooms need to be wiped, and cut up if large then frozen on trays till hard, then bagged up. You can't freeze cucmber, lettuce or celery because of the high water content.

If you have a cool garage or shed, vegetables like carrots, parsnips, swede & onions can be stored perfectly well there, rather than being frozen. If you can find sprouts being sold on the stem, buy them and keep the base of the stem in a little water in a cool place. They will keep for ages like this. Cauliflowers can be frozen, but again, if you keep the base in a little water in a big saucepan in a cool shed or garage, they will store well for up to a week without the need for freezing. If you don't have a shed or garage, but do have a large waterprrof picnic cool bag, store them in this in the garden and they should keep OK.0

Ooooh, I wouldn't have thought that, but it certainly is cold enough outside!
They have been reducing the sprouts on the stem for the last week or so, to 25p each - so I'm hoping they'll have some reduced today!

Hi i like buying my veg from the market getting it home slicing it up ino meal size portions ,£10-15 can last me months-but the last time i did it -didn't taste so good -should i blanche some veg ,is more than a couple of weeks 2 long?0
