Excellent suggestions one and all, what politically savvy creatures you are!! Thank you so much.

As luck would have it, I managed to be doing some photocopying outside the mens' toilets, as you do! Took me about 45 very boring minutes to photocopy 3 sheets of paper, actually a recipe for Dundee cake I'd printed off from the BBC site. And as luck would have it, idiot's boss, the operations/finance director went to that very same toilet....By some weird co-incidence, I had chatted to his secretary earlier this morning, while she was making coffee and discovered he was around the office all morning, no meetings.... He stopped to ask me how I was blah blah blah and I managed to excitedly mention how I thought I might have come up with a way of saving a substantial amount of money blah blah blah.... He seemed to be equally excited (maybe not, as my excitement was faked) but I said I needed to run the figures past idiot boss first, then I'd be delighted to show him....

    Did I do right? :D

Presentation to idiot boss is tomorrow morning, have spent all morning discussing with team how we handle presentation.

Spent most of last night awake and coming up with more ideas which I was jotting down in the dark, can't read all of them, as I've overwritten myself :o But I think there is enough to stop them in their tracks and whet the appetite for more information and at least to consider things, everything is backed up by hard facts and figures.

get the team involved as much as possible then someone from the team could ask someone (or tell them) they deal with in another dept , later on if they have heard read the report etc. just a thought

my own circumstances ,,,,,well due to the [strike]ineptiude,rubbishness,[/strike] uselessness of my manager , nothing happened today like he said it would , so after going to the dentist tommorow I have the joy of going in to work not knowing if its happened in my absence

I am really hoping you've got the wrong end of the stick and your upside down reading skills are rubbish hamster! Still got my fingers crossed for you

    daily update

Not so much an update but an overview of the month. Tomorrow is payday and as I run my month 25th to 24th, today is the last day of the month!!

I have a Clubcard Plus and put 200.00 into each month for groceries and petrol. This month I spent 142.88 (far too much, will try to do better) on groceries and 57.20 on petrol, putting me 4p over budget

I have paid an extra 165.15 to the A&L card so far. The credit card month does not run to the same dates and I will be able to pay a possible 200.00 over to it next Monday and still hit the same card month.

Unfortunately, the Captain has landed me with a vet bill of 97.00 to come out of next month's budget - thanks Captain....

Am doing okay on my personal storecupboard challenge, dinner last night was fantastic, and I didn't get two portions out of it, I got three! Tonight's marvel will be pancakes. Probably not very nutritious, but it'll be a quick, late meal after riding this evening, so absolutely ideal and scrummy....

Now need to set up a new sheet on the workbook (and back it up:rolleyes:)

Double Earn Points. Receive two points per pound on instore/online shopping paying by Tesco's little known Clubcard Plus account. It requires a standing order, but just do this for £1/month then top it up at customer services before each shop, as cash is immediately credited. Avoid going overdrawn though as the rate's not good! Applications are phone only, the official number is 08457 104 010 but you should be able to get through via freephone 0800 406050 too.
    Copied from main forum!

I got £17 worth of vouchers this quarter, so I think it probably works. I pay by standing order, so, in theory, can stop and start up as I will. Obviously, I will be 4p under budget next month to make up for the horrendous overspend this month

I think it unlikely Captainsillypants will behave. I lent him out to a friend for a hack yesterday and he was exceptionally silly and fast.....it must be spring

firstly well done on your george micheal impression outside the toilets :rotfl:

sadly my upside down reading skills are spot on as boss man told me everything ( that he wants to) (on saturday) about how on monday (yesterday) how present company will fold and he has new company set up to run till the place is sold , so old big boss is not boss any more and idiot boss is now direct boss,

oh and just so I knew I wasnt mistaken I casually walked a collegue past said office on friday afternoon that had huge pile of 45's on desk, then went out side and looked through unblinded window to read other sheet of paper which told us almost everything boss told me on saturday.

oh and to top it all off he's so carp that it didnt happen yesterday , althougth meeting with special lady from outside firm did happen but not till gone 5pm , so Im guessing its today. Not starting work till later I wont find out as I said that Im at the dentist ALL day and wont be able to answer any calls till after 4 , though I did tell one person if anything strange happens to ring me , so far nothing yet.
