Hi Piquant
I've not posted on your thread before but have lurked on it for a while. Just wanted to add my support to the stampede you already have. Sounds like you are having a tough time at the moment. It's never easy ending a relationship, even when you know in your head it is completely the right thing to do. Hope you feel better about things soon. And hope that hairy horse is behaving!
Oh thank you k2tog, how very kind of you. I won't weigh people down with it all, I just needed to explain what was going on. At least I haven't hit the spending wagon! well, apart from some chocolate but that was medicine....

"soothe" is possibly not what the Captain had in mind.... We did the first part of our ride in "handstand" position :eek: ...certainly took my mind off anything else  may reduce his barley rations....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

weekend update
As said already, I'm back in the world of the living. Things couldn't carry on the way they were. I'm sad and filled with regret at twenty years thrown away, but it couldn't work...
On the positive side, apart from a couple of bars of chocolate I haven't strayed from the DFW way of life. At least I haven't added extra guilt to the trip by going on a spendathon
The Captain's vet bill has come in at £97.34 and he has no intention of paying it! That is the price of a horse's night out on the tiles...I'll pay it after payday, the vet is fairly laid back about invoices, so he'll get paid by the end of the month.
Still went over my budget on the food shop, maybe I'm setting it too low?? I pay £200 a month into my Tesco Clubcard account and use it for food and petrol. This figure is a fraction of what I used to spend on the food shop before I joined up here, no all bad then!
I got up early and cooked flapjacks for my breakfasts next week, to go with yogurt and honey. Used up the bananas in the fruit bowl and made banana bread. Put a huge chilli in the slow cooker, with the added chocolate that takes it from very nice to sublime....All I need to do is roast the butternut squash for lunchtime salads and I'm sort of done :T
Thank you all for being my friends, very much appreciated:ATotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Thank you silva and you are always very welcome! Yes, I did say chocolate! It has to be at least 75 or 85% cocoa, I use Green & Blacks (hmm, that might explain the grocery budget ) and I use 4 small squares, that's all you need. I promise the chilli does not taste of chocolate. The chocolate seems to act as another spice bringing a depth of flavour that is amazing. Try it, you won't be sorry. I believe they always make it with chocolate in Mexico.
Now have you ever tried chocolate with chilli??? Possibly an acquired taste, but I really liked it!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
