I'll take these 3 first. If I could get up to, say, 11 or 12 children, then i'll be able to retire next month ;D ;DMortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000

You can have either or both of mine MLC - say trial run for a week and i'll also send the benefits that come with em -
which do you want?
The eldest is a 4 year old boy - he comes with £16.50 Child benefit and £10.45 CTC - just under £27 a week.
I will send him the way i got him (ie not clothed) - please use this £27 to buy socks, shoes, underwear (if you want to moneysave skip the vest cos he is very warm-blooded). coat, hat, pyjamas and everydear wear.
He will also need school uniform - trousers, polo shirt and sweatshirt - only available from school £6.50.
I'll leave it upto you how many seatshirts you buy, but remember the fewer you get the more washing you'll need to do.
His school dinners will cost you £7 for the week, don't
forget to include him when you do your weeekly shop .
He will be at school 9 - 3.30 so please now adjust your working hours and pay to be able to drop him off and pick him up.
Alternatively you could pay a child-minder to do this and keep him till you get home. Please pay for this out of the £27 i have sent as we are not entitled to any help with child care costs - due to our household income and the fact that my husbands benefits such as company car and petrol
are added on as income for the benefit of CTC despite the fact that all our income is taxed (ie hubby has negative tax code) due to these perks.
Alternatively i could send you the 1 year old. She comes with £11.05 child benefit and £10.45 CTC - i am being generous and sending you the whole of the £10.45 CTC regardless of which child - even though i only receive this amount for the two of them not each.
You know have £21.50 - please clothes her. She does not require school uniform but will need nappies, wipes, dummies and full-fat milk.
As she is home all day you will need to employ a full time child-minder - again i can't offer anymore than the £21.50 i am sending as we do not receive anything else.
If you are felling adventurous please take both - you will have £16.50 + £11.05 + £10.45 about £38 a week now.
please follow instructions above but bear in mind you have 2 lots of childcare to pay for out of this - one full-time,one drop offs and pick ups.
Please send them bavk at the end of the week if you have discovered you are no better off
Many Thanks

But Spendless why did you have children if you can only afford to feed and clothe them from the benefits you get from the state? (which I'm sure is not the case!)
That is my point here - too many people having kids as it's their "right" they believe and then expecting everyone else to support them.
As I said before, we do want children but are going to wait until we are in a position to be able to afford to look after them ourselves, which is what everyone else should be doing.
After all, you wouldnt buy a dog and then expect a handout to pay for its food and keep would you??
I'm not having a go at you personally so apologies if it comes across this way :-*
My grievance is aimed more at the people like Lizzie from the Wife Swap series who didnt work, nor did her husband yet they got thousands and thousands in benefit to care for their umpteen kids yet could easily afford to smoke, drink and go out once a week! And there's plenty like her to go around... >:(0 -
Hi Mistletoe and Wine
No I realise it's not a personal grievance at me - nor am i trying to have a go at MLC- just trying to point out those with kids do not necessarily get all sorts of benefits.
We could and can afford to have kids - but i have had to pack in a full-time job when first was born and a part-time job when second was born.
Even if people can afford to have children. A change of circumstances can alter this.A relationship can break up, illness, redundancy, death of one of the parents.
Child Benefit has HRP (Home Responsibilities Protection) which gives me a credit towards my old age pension.
Child Tax Credit as i've mentioned before originally comes from what was the married mans allowance.0 -
I have no family that would be able to help that live round here my grandad is 83 so cant ask him and my cousin has 6 kids of her own
so cant ask her.
My council tax is nearly £1300 a year and holiday clubs charge about £30 a day :-/
i want to work and the money would be useful but cant work out how to do it feasibly.
Annoying thing is in this day and age working from home should be a viable option but no company i know do it.
Got all the skills just need a job from home
and CTC is just rubbish we get about 37 a month so not exactly rolling in it0 -

Everything considered,
a) do your children like loud rock music played at all hours?
b) do they like Emmerdale (not my choice - the missus!!!) ?
c) are they well behaved 24/7 ?Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
