Just don't go to capitals and more than 5 exclamation marks then, or I might have to change my view entirely, in light of your convincing argument.

Lol - not heard the 5 explamation marks before - I'll be careful ;)

Just to clarify though, the price you bid is the price you pay.
No dispute on that, at the end of the day.
But, as the buyer did, I can't see anything wrong in asking for a discount. Seller said no, and the buyer admitted he was trying it on, and paid the full amount. Good natured haggling.
Consider, if a buyer wins multiple items off you, would you consider it fair if he asked for a single (reduced) postage. You could say yes or no.
If you say yes, I'm better off, if you say no, I pay what I expected to anyway. Can't harm me to ask though. It's not too different to the above.

Dunno why everyones giving the buyer a hard time all he's done is try and get the costs down which is why most of us are on here. He's obviously doing it as a business and realises he's being overcharged and could get the postage cheaper, when that didn't work he's just paid the price being asked, hardly a STUPID buyer or a pain.

Thing is if he'd have posted his side on here half the posters against him would be offering him help :)
  • His problem was in being very pushy about getting it done more cheaply. If I was trying to negotiate, having won the auction, I would stress that I was still willing to pay the full price and did not wish to inconvenience the seller in any way.

Being willing to pay the full price and not incoveniencing the buyer is hardly negotiating, wish all my negotiations were against people like you :)

You wouldn't get very far then.
How do you know he was pushy?

Is it me???? When I bid on an item I look at the combined cost of the item and P&P and only go as high as I would be willing to pay for the total cost. I wouldn't order anything from any online site if the total cost came to more than I wanted to pay.
Would it be fair for a seller to say "oops, actually I think I've undercharged by £x so do you mind if I increase the cost now you've won the item"??

    Just a thought! x
