Stupid buyer now wants to negotiate P&P.

First of all, there is nothing stupid about wanting to negotiate cheaper delivery, and I think it's rather cynical (and pathetic) of some people to suggest that the buyer is just trying to con the seller. I'm sure that if this was reversed, and it was the buyer asking for advice on getting cheaper delivery, you would be more helpful.
Anyway, why not try setting up an economy delivery by:
http://www.parcel2go.com/parcel-delivery.aspx
It will cost about £8.22 (inc vat), and they collect from your front door, or any specified collection address. Parcel2Go is recommended by eBay, so you are fully covered, in fact they are probably better to use than Royal Mail truth be told.
however then the buyer may end up travelling miles ot collect the item than a local RM depot.its never simple0 -

Why? You just phone them and ask for a redelivery...it's not that hard :rolleyes:We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -

So take a day off work...?
How many couriers will deliver on a Saturday on a budget service level?
Couriers are not always suitable for everyone, and is not the definitive answer to the OPs problem.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
heres an example thats just happened today for me.
ive got a card from DHL.dunno what it is,perhaps a replacement part for our pushchair
i generally work 6 days and the DHL depot is right on the west edge of Edinburgh
im on the very east edge of the city
so im left with the only option of driving right across the city to collect the item0 -

No, you phone the depot and arrange redelivery, I've done it before. You are obviously biased because you work for RM.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -

I don't work for the RM, but I agree that arranging redelivery is not ideal. I'm flexible with my work, so I can work from home on arranged days, however there are times when I am called away at an hours notice or so.
So generally weekday redeliveries are not ideal for me.
Not many courier companies deliver on Saturdays, unless you pay a premium - which the original buyer seems very reluctant to do.
One of my suppliers uses TNT - the nearest TNT depot to Kidsgrove where I live is Cannock. Not useful. They also use Interparcel which is near Uttoxeter, and Parceline is bottom end of Stafford. None of these are ideal for me, and none deliver on a Saturday.
Royal Mail delivery office is a 5 minute drive in one direction, Parcelforce about 10 minutes in the other...
So again, couriers are not the answer for everyone.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
It sounds like the buyer is just asking for the item to be sent standard parcels - rather than negotiate on your £12 (or is it £15).
Suggest you reply saying that you will send standard parcels (presumably that is how you intended sending anyway) and ask him to pay the amount invoiced, which he accepted by bidding.0 -
E-mailed the buyer this afternoon and said that the £12 was for postage AND PACKAGING and my time and cost to travel to PO.
Also mentioned that seeing as he normally charges £15 on all the clubs he sells, that I may even make a loss at £12.
He e-mailed back to say fair enough but could he send his own courrier. I just replied now to say that its not convenient for me to wait at home for a courier (which it isn't) plus that I would expect him to pay for packaging still anyway so he would have to pay the full amount.
Waiting for his next "cost cutting" reply but getting fed up with this. Why would you bid £75 for golf clubs and then quibble over £2?0
