    Hi guys

i took ashopping list to stop me doing this, no hope for me really.

Oh rags i'm so excited:j , home bargains will be huge there, oh can't wait, will you let me know when you find out an exact date for opening. (note to self save lots of pennies for a mad spending spree when it opens).

Please excuse me chipping in here but I related very strongly to the 'extras' which end up in the trolley! My latest tactic which is working for me so far, is to put the essentials in the main part of the trolley and the luxuries/impulse buys in the front bit and clearly visible. Before I get to the checkout I go round and put most of these things back on the shelf.........it is surprising how looking at them as I go around the shop forces me to reconsider. I also feel really good when I have not bought them..........better than if I had!

Good luck with your goals this year. I haven't made mine yet but must take the plunge soon or I will be in a hole by the end of the year.

I'm so glad I'm not alone. Nov 2007 paid off my credit card (£7000), managed to put £3000 in an ISA. Now in Jan 2009, I racked up £5400 on MBNA, £898 on M&s and the ISA has only £1400 left. I feel such a fool. Is not the big things either- its extra trips to Tesco at £40 a time and odd trips to M&S. I like the idea of a diary. I did Martins budget planner last month and discovered I had spent over £400 just in extra food shopping! Nice to meet you all- i dont feel sp hopeless now. Any tips to get keep me on the straight and narrow?;)

    Day 11

I'm not leaving the house today, so should be a NSD, nothing much to report no change in bank acounts etc.

Plan to make a lovely Roast Lamb dinner, do some baking for lunch boxes, school uniform to iron and i'm going to have a little play on the Wii.

Esparkle - thanks for the support and feel free to pop in any time.

FionaB- are you sure were not the same person, you sound so like me, like you say it's the little things you think oh its ok £20 here £30 there and then bam you relise its one big debt, please feel free to join in we can support each other.

    take care miemie
  • dont worry fionaB, me and my fella racked up more debt after getting a consoildation loan (just look at my sig) so it happens to the best of us. the good news is that you are on here and together we will be debt free!!!!! although i think miemie may be well ahead of us........

    :D Day 13

Did'nt post yesterday, but it was a NSD took lunch to work and left purse at home:D , got a sample of herbal essence shampoo and conditioner checked the price online and worked out each sachet is about 8p worth (how sad am i) so 16p into savings.

Today should be another no spend day as i plan to stay home and clean, decided to have lasagne tonight and will have soup tommorow.

Postie has just been brought me another £10 gift voucher for Argos from IPSOS and a Castello calender which contains lots of money off vouchers:D and no bills, oh and a letter from Freemans telling me they have missed me and have a wonderful gift waiting for me when i decide to spend with them, i think not.

Now have £20 in Argos vouchers, I need a Weekend bag for my girly trip away but my fryer has packed up so need a new one of those so not sure which to buy will go look on Argos site and see how much bags are and if i can get one in the sale.
