As the title says i'm in debt again this seems to be an ongoing spiral since i was 18 (now 30), spend spend spend get in debt, pay it off and then spend all over again.
In june we paid off £15000:D of debt, my hubby almost flogged himself to death to do so and 6 months later i've racked up over £4000:eek: again, i can't tell him i feel i have let him down badly, so guys i really need your help i have to pay it off as soon as possible.
My hubby pays all household bills and is really good at getting deals, going through quidco etc etc, so basically out of my earnings i pay for food, clothing for me and 2 children and treats
SOA - month
My income £650 (this is roughly as some times it's slightly more)
C benefit £125
tax credits go into another account and this is used to pay for childrens activities such as football, dancing and bits
outgoing
Fuel £50
Car tax £3 (£35 year)
food £350
clothes £30
Extras £15 (schools always asking for money for something)
Capital 1 -£3000 -pay £50 - apr 8.5%
M&S card-£700 - pay £20 -4%
Next £450 - pay £50 - 28%?
Vertbaudet -£70- pay£10 30%?
Littlewoods £80-pay £10 0%
Great universal £90 - pay £10 0%
I try to cook from scratch,i do lots of surveys and try to use the vouchers for birthday presents etc, a send for any freebies that i could use. I sell items on ebay
I guess i just need to keep a diary to see what i'm spending where.
I will pay this debt off and not rack it up again.
hope it makes sense guys feel like i'm rambling and my hands are shaking, can't believe i'm so stupid.

Hi miemie
I know exactly how you feel - it's often the self sabotage that gets us where we are and we end up kicking ourselves for it.
The main thing is you've realised whats happened and you're willing to turn it around. There are so many people with their head in the sand and thats a much worse place to be.
so now's the time to stop beating yourself up over it. if you can talk to your hubby it might be good to share the load, or maybe speak to a friend or relative to make sure you've got some support?GC: Jan £118.67/£175
Owed to Mum - £1,487/£6,400

Hello
Maybe we could use your thread as a "keep us on the straight and narrow" thread. I keep meaning to start my own spending diary but keep putting it off, so maybe I can share yours? We could have a weekly competition as to who can spend the least / save the most. A little competiton might keep you motivated?
Looking at your SOA you have £775 coming in and £438 going out (unless I have added that up wrong) so you should have £337 a month going spare. Like you said, you need to keep a spending diary to see what extra's you are spending on.
So - come on, what have you spent today LOLStart Date: 27/11/2010

Fab we can support each other, today i have spent £12.04p on sending ebay parcels, but will get this money back when i transfer paypal money.Reall please made over £50 yesterday on ebay.
But i have the dentist this afternoon:eek: , i'm really scared of the dentist and i know i will need some work doing.
Also need to buy bread and sandwich meat for kids pack lunches tomorrow
Have decided that i'm going to take out £ 20 aweek until January for food shopping and will eat out of cupboards and freezers. Going away for christmas this is paid for and spending money saved.
Other spends this week are to buy last of christmas shopping no more than £30 to be spent:rolleyes:0 -
Right - I am by no means an expert (look at my signature!!) but this is what I would do.....
Keep a spending diary (from this work out where the extra money is going and well.... stop it (unless totally necessary!)
Throw the spare money you have at the highest interest debt first whilst maintaining minimum payments on the rest of them.
Cut the cards up... if you haven't got them, you can't spend on them!
Keep posting on here! I haven't got very far at all on clearing my debts (this is only week 3 and I am still trying to budget and keep within it!), but the support and advice on this website is amazing and with everyones words of encouragement you will be debt free!
Good luck and remember this is totally doable! :beer:start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Thanks natsplatnat, i have to stop spending just for the sake of it.
I can and will do this, have also decided that any freebies i get i will put the equivelent money into my savings account and every £10 i save will go off the debt (every little helps).
So on saturday i recieved the Matter box, only used the chocolate for hubbies lunch box and shower gel has gone into holiday bag, so i reckon i need to transfer £1.

Well, I went into town this morning to get my youngest son some new jumpers for school as his others are too small. Sign on school uniform shop said 9-5 every day. This was at 9:15am - no shop.
So, went for a wander around town. Went to Charity shop, browsed and saw three items I liked. I went to the changing room only to find the curtain had been removed and there was a sign on the mirror saying "This will no longer be used as a changing room thanks to some people deciding to use it as a public toilet" EUWWWWWW how disgusting!! Anyway I bought all three items and sods law got home none of them fit me, so I am going to have to find time to take them back. (I spent between £9-£10).
Went back to the school uniform shop - still not open - re read the sign and it did clearly state 9-5 open hours including Monday (this was 9:45am by now)
So, went to Primark and ended up spending just over £23 in there, but I've decided to return two of the tops tomorrow as I didn't like them when I got them home.
went back to the school uniform shop, still not open (this was well after 10am by now). So I have given up and will go again tomorrow when I go to return the stuff.
Spends today so far: (not totally correct, as receipts are upstairs).
£1.00 parking.
£2.40 (youngest son, breakfast club)
£9.99 (Charity shop = 2 x tops, 1 x trousers).
£23.99 (Primark = 1 x pair of jeans for oldest son, 3 x tops for moi)
£7.15 (Morrisons, needed a few bits I forgot yesterday)
Day 1 = £44.53
