.... could eat Dorito's?!
I would say knock off as much of the smaller ones you can.
I treat my debt like a game of Street Fighter, or... Another shoot em up (Goldeneye, Halo etc etc...), take down all the small baddies leaving you the big boss at the end. This makes the achievement all the more sweet as you know you have the one big nemesis to overcome. Mentally (for me) this makes it easier to pay off!
At least that's how I think. The interest rates would cripple me psychologically, so muchos credit to you!
Anyway on to me (because I'm the best!
)...
The first round of testing was... interesting... It was a test all 'financial analysts do when working for this company and you need to get as many of the 60 done as you can in 7 minutes...'
Ok... 7 minutes to match 60 sequences of numbers and letters to another selection... I don't know whether I have done it, I don't care! It was intense and scary but good at the same time. Fingers crossed I did but if I didn't, I can be put forward for more roles! :rotfl:
ps: hope the marathon is going good! I'll be out on Marathon day looking out for peeps! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!
How do you amass £70k in a year?! :eek:0 -
Walshy, 7 mins that can change your life!!!! When will you know the outcome?
Yay for you cheering us on for the marathon - presumably you will be around Canary Wharf ish type place? How will I spot you - All I have to go by is the fact that you WERE supposed to wear jeans and a white shirt on Saturday night takeaway and then wore something completely different!!!
I on the other hand will be the sweaty one plodding along with 25000 others in front of me - simple.......Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
IT is isn't it?!
I'll have to give you a location at around 10:30 am. Canary Wharf is my coffee patch if I want to chill out in a vacuous place full of rich people. I'll probably have to let you know nearer the time. If I'm working for Barclays (I find out tomorrow morning) then I'll be going to the gym so probably look like one of the runners but on the other side of the gate! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!

I should be at Canary Wharf at about lunchtime - just in time for you to get the coffees inSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Bet you feel better now you've made your mind up as what to do.

I have paid the 0% balance money to my Egg loan. It may not be the MOST sensible way of doing it, but I think it will work. Thanks for your input everyone!
I will pay in the cheque from the pension tomorrow, and will then do something with that next week when it has cleared.
At the end of the day, wherever it all goes, it is going to the debt, so the end aim is the same.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hooray! I am glad you have paid it off something. It didn't feel right to have it just sitting in a bank somewhere.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

I know what you mean Seaxwyn, but I was torn between paying it off the lower APR loan that I have a realistic chance of clearing sooner because of the ability to overpay, vs the "sensible" MSE way of aiming to clear the ridiculously high APR debt first.
I will be very happy to get rid of egg, though, and this brings me a step closer to it, even though I have the virgin debt instead.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I reckon you should use the money to buy chocolate! Oh, too late, you've already put it to the egg loan! Of course, if you change your mind I understand you can't eat the chocolate so you could gift it to me :rotfl: xx0
