See I thought mine was tiredness, but I have no trouble getting to sleep, it's the 4 or 5 times a night I've been waking up for no reason that's doing it I think! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!

Morning! I hope everyone is feeling a little brighter today.
I'm hoping to go for a run this evening when the children are at karate, although my legs still ache a bit from the weekend!
Scratchcards done, but only 10p.....and banking hasn't thrown up any horrors so that is good. My student rent money arrived by cheque yesterday so I can pay that in - it will pay for the rest of our ski trip, so that is very welcome.
Other than that, nothing exciting happening - I have to buy OH a birthday present, so that is my lunchtime taken care of!

I was having a clear out of my filofax, and I found £10 tucked in amongst the bits of paper and receipts! Immediately paid it into my "Get rid of the loan" account.
I have more or less decided about the 0% money........for better or worse.
I have three big loans - my Egg loan, which is low interest rate, and can be overpaid, now about £9000 and £422 a month.....Barclays - still £11000 ish, 24.9% but no overpayments, and £416 a month.....and a secured loan, £11000 ish, variable rate, so lowish at the moment, only £70 a month but for 20-odd years.
I think it would do me a lot of good psychologically, to get rid of either Egg or Barclays and free up over £400 a month which means that if OH cannot do his second job because of the Working Time Directive, we would not be any worse off per month than we are now, because our outgoings would be less by approx the amount he earns from that extra job.
Also, I just think that getting shot of a big loan, would be a big boost to me.
Obviously, the ideal one is the Barclayloan because of the hideous APR.....but the Egg loan is easier because I can throw bits of extra money at it which is motivation in itself to clear the remainder.
So.....I have renamed one of my Halifax savings pots "get rid of the loan" and I am putting all my MSE money, etc in there, with the aim of having enough in there to pay off the Barclay loan before OH work/income reduces. If by that time, I haven't got enough to pay off the Barclayloan, I will pay it off the Egg loan which is slightly smaller, and also they then give me the option of recalculating the remaining payments to take into account overpayments, so if I needed to cut back further, my monthly payment could be reduced without penalty.
I think that makes sense - it may not be absolutely the best way of doing it, but to aim for one of those bigger loans would mean that my incomings and outgoings would look a whole lot healthier!
The 0% money is only £3800, so I have a significant amount to find - so any bonus I get from work, money from MSE stuff, etc will be added in there. I am due a small rebate from my old occupational pension this week, which was going towards new windows for the house, but I think I will add that to the "pot" instead, and hope that the windows last another winter.

Oh I like the sound of that. Its flexible, it takes account of known future changes, it combines snowball *and* reality - excellent, Hypno. Of course you had to let all the ideas stew to come up with that.
Now get going on those dooyoo reviews!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
