Mudbath, I like your thinking! But I am pleased to say that I am now into my third week without chocolate

Beanie - I so hope those crunchie bites turn up soon - chocolate would never have chance in my house to get buried underneath clutter.....I would have eaten it straight away!

GTD - the number temporarily goes up, because I have to pay the 3% balance transfer fee.....but when my cheque clears, that will be counteracted nicely!

    G'Day all!

Great news about Egg situation Hypno, you must feel so pleased.

I started my job on Monday - left it on Tuesday - it was awful, not in Projects as I thought at all but the Head of Schools PA! I absolubtly hate Secretarial work, am rubbish at it and would not have even applied for it had I known, I knew it was a bad sign when I was checking my watch by lunchtime on Monday, working out how much longer I would have to be there!

There are plenty of jobs here so I will continue my search, I am not prepared to waste a minute of my life doing something I hate.

In a very MSE way, when I phoned to say I would not be coming back in, I asked them to pay me for Monday, and they agreed :j .

So on with the job search and back to MSing.

    Have a good day all

  • Hi, I've been reading your diary on and off for a bit now, can't really keep up though as it seems to get more posts than the daily chat! :D I just wanted to say well done on keeping at paying off all that money, I'd cave under that amount. I can't wait to see it all paid off, it's fun seeing the numbers come down. :) Good luck and I'll keep dropping in.

llamahead - what a brave thing to do! Good luck with finding a replacement, but yes, if you are unhappy....move on!

kayleigh, nice to see you, and do keep popping in!

OH's birthday today, and the in laws are taking us out for dinner - not where we would have chosen to go.....one of those places with play areas attached (our children are 13 and 14 now, so far far too old!)....but it is free food, and I won't have to wash up afterwards, so.....

I must also renew my car insurance - couldn't get it any cheaper through quidco etc, so just doing a straightforward renewal.....feels odd after the last couple of years of cashback!

    Just off to do scratchcards.....

  • Morning, These decisions are so hard aren't they but I am pleased to see that you are taking the balanced view of future monthly income vs clearing debt! Very sensible

Just one thing, I'm not sure if i've got muddled but you have a small Barclays loan at £1420 balance and £1500 left of the tax rebate, so can't one clear theother, that way you have reduced the Egg loan plus cleared a complete loan, which would leave a monthly payment amount free to use elsewhere?????

That may be what I do when the cheque clears next week.... I think it will be a case of seeing how I feel on the day it clears! It is silly really, all this umming and arrring over a relatively small amount of money. If it were a bigger amount, the decisions would be easier, but at £1500, it is not huge but is taking up a lot of "thinking"!

50p on TAB scratchcard, only 10p on the other....

  • I guess it is small in terms of where you started, but this is an extra £2000 + that is paying for a holiday and clearing more debt. You set a target of £30k for this year so this may all bring you DFW date by the end of the year or at least by Easter next year.

That is some achievement, and at the same time that beautiful house you want is coming down in price too!
