Official Microsoft prices for Windows.
Overpriced or not I ask you
My stance on the matter still hasn't changed, and I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make by showing me a price list. Microsoft can't sell their products direct to consumer at a lower price than the RRP otherwise that would cause major problems with the relationships between them and the retail partners, but these are free to sell these at what price they feel appropriate often with leading losses or with a minimal profit which is why on Vista Home Premium there is a £40 difference between Microsoft and Amazon.0 -
MK, if you were joking then I apologise for misinterpreting what you said.
Aiadi of course you should have the right to use something you buy in whatever manner you deem fit. I suggest you use that defence if you're ever caught speeding I'm sure the judge will agree.
I agree that the laws regarding what you can do with music and films you've bought need to be updated but trying to justify piracy by claiming to be some sort of freedom fighter is ridiculous. If you're going to steal music and films you probably won't get caught so go ahead and do it but don't try and justify it.
Tom, you don't need to spend £30-40 on a game you don't know you will like. Youc an read reviews and download demos that will give you a good feel for whether you like it or not. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

Your analogy fails remarkably. Speeding can well be detrimental to self and others. Could you tell me how being able to play a song that I have PAID FOR on my OWN MP3 player be harmful to anyone???
No one condones piracy but a sweeping draconian action that treats everyone like a criminal should not be masqueraded as law....Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
If you want free go with the Penguin, Linux makes sense, when you get to grips with it To a complete novice it would be no more difficult than Windows to learn,
you can do most things now from the GUI (Graphical User Interface, Windows to some) I feel some flak on it's way now from the slavish devotees of Bill.0 -

Who are you to issue such an ultimatum? I don't like Microsoft but I want to use their products. I like freedom. Anything which oppresses freedom, such as DRM, should be fought against.
I don't like Tesco, but I like their products.
I don't like Ryanair, but I still fly with them.
I don't like BT, or my gas or my electricity supplier, but I still use them.
These companies should all give me free products.0 -

Me too for not making it more obvious it was a joke
Anyway what a heated topic this has become. The funny thing is everyone is right, hurray.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

The funny thing is that the OP's not been back!

But Tesco don't restrict you on on which plastic bags you carry your shopping home in or how you get them there or what cooking equipment you use to make your meal..
I don't like Tesco, but I like their products.
Reduce your carbon footprint and walkI don't like Ryanair, but I still fly with them.
(joke)
Well as for BT your stuck with them unless you have cable or don't want broadband and use mobiles instead. Invest in "free" energy like wind turbines and Solar panels for electricity and solar heating panels..I don't like BT, or my gas or my electricity supplier, but I still use them.
you might be able to SELL energy back to the local grid
Why pay for something like windows when there is a free 'legal' alternative like Linux? These companies should all give me free products.
Above is intended to be humorous and in no way condoning any illegal activities.Laters
