Thanks for the card Natty and thanks lil_me for sorting it all out (I stuck a load of extra stamps on the outside of the bag for you - hopefully you can peel some off )!!!

Knackered, too tired to think. Will just lurk for a bit.

    Remains of my list.....
Descale & scrub down tiles in bathroom
Ebay - list 10 items (still not done)
    Write letters x 3
    Sort out window quotes
    Post parcel x 2
    Buy Dad's Xmas present
    Book activities for next term
    book christmas shopping
    buy socket expander thing
    Buy batteries
    choose Christmas tree
  • I had to go to town to post an ebay parcel and the queue in the post office was out the door!!! So while I stood and waited I decided that I will take all my christmas things that need to be posted in at once instead of spreading them out!
went to woolies but was very disappointed ....have a £10 gift card to use up... was going to give one each to my neices and nephew but no point now...fortunately I had only bought the one. Will have to keep popping in to see if I can find something to spend it on!
I am off back to carry on in the kitchen - determined to get it sparkly - catch you all later.

  • Got to evening class to find teacher is sick so came home and while dinner was cooking I wiped all the surfaces, dusted, and packaged up ebay item ready for Post Office in the morning. Gathered up all the old magazines/remains of Sunday papers in the house to read through while I'm having a bath then I can recycle them. Cheated and got OH to drop library book back on his way to work

Now for tomorrow I'm going to-

-go to Post Office for ebay item/xmas cards
-grout (honest I will do this)
-file all my mystery shopping receipts
-build the box i got for my wedding dress and pack it away
-make another payment to my loan
-make doctors appointment for after xmas

Why is it that however much you do in one day there's even more the next day? And has anyone got any ideas about where I can get instructions for cooking Xmas dinners? I've only done it once years ago and I'm very nervous about in laws coming so complete idiot's guide with timings would be great

pigpen - with more detail, I agree with you, not suitable! I sometimes do supply in a Catholic school, and once I was covering a class watching a film - there was the start of a bedroom scene, and I was seriously beginning to panic, imagining the complaints from parents! It wasn't me that set the work by the way, and it faded out very promptly, leaving me in a cold sweat though!

I was booked to go there tomorrow, but the agency have rung begging and pleading for me to go to the local academy instead - and I agreed to give it a whirl, only because they are desperate for a French teacher. The kids had better be angels, or I shall definitely not be going back! I was strongly influenced by the fact that the Christmas holidays are looming...I'll have Friday off instead.:D

I have done quite a bit extra today, shifting stuff from the livingroom so I have space for the tree, and then hopefully after Christmas I can have the carpet replaced, the bookshelves put up, and the stuff can come out of the bedroom and back here. That will probably take until next year.

I also managed a quick zip downtown and bought quite a few things that I needed. Altogether quite a productive day - now I just have to do my cards and the washing up!
