I wouldn't swap mine for the world.. I'd swap him for a deluxe hot chocolate with squirty cream, marshmallows and a couple of flakes..

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Or the house oddjob mentioned - that sounded nice, but it would need a cleaner and gardener too.... I forgot to mention the reason I wouldn't swap him was I'd hate to break in another one at my age - too much hassle... I know how to work this one and when he stops working, if you hit him on his head or kick him in the shins he starts again... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Speaking of move, we've been offered a house through a social landlord but it looks tiny, seriously tiny, but it's a new build. I've spoken to the housing woman and she's said to look at it once they are completed (not finished yet and no similar show home up here) anyway, have done the form, as I said to DP it's also a safety net, go and see it, it's then ours if we want it or can turn it down.

Glad you have sorted it in your head about Megan - pretty much what my Mum is doing, good on ya!

I really like the idea about the fund too - mine are not too bad, £12 per month each but they are only 18 months & 30 months which is why, but I'd rather put that away while I can myself + a bit more... lots of different pots to sort out next year I think...

Hope the house isn't too small for you and you like it once it's built - we are in a Housing association house and that's quite a new build (10 years old), but now they have to build them for disabled people too - so we have extra wide hallways for wheelchair access (!!!!!! for getting new doors tho), a downstair loo, raised plugs, etc etc - you may be suprised...

lil-me I wasn't saying people wouldn't be willing to spend a lot on treatment for their pets, just that sometimes it might not be possible due to financial circumstances. I can afford it now, that could change.
That wasn't the way I took your comments, hope that isn't the way it came across x Just didn't want anyone to think I wasn't having lots done just because of the cost, if I could 'fix' her with money I would, but from what the vets said I'd only be prolonging any suffering if it got to the stage she needed meds and there isn't much I can give her to help the problems she has, apart from pills to make her constipated etc which then can cause other issues. I do remember very well my Dad's last dog, he had over £2000 in vets bills to pay when they had to call it a day with him, he'd spent money on spending money with him I think, surgery that did nothing, meds that made him worse etc and one day just after all that he collapsed, so that experience is always in the back of my mind.

We didn't expect Megan to last a few months when she came home, she could hardly walk when we met her in kennels, but it's been over 18 months now, I think she's enjoyed her time back with us, including travelling around with the caravan etc which she seems to love, especially the fuss she gets off the guys we go away with regular, she's the favourite. She would have been put to sleep back then if she haddn't come back here, so I am just pleased that time wasn't wasted by whoever dumped her. I just can't put the boys through loosing her until absolutely necessary and suppose in the back of my mind just hoping she improves, she's fell a couple of times today with her arthritis in her shoulders but other times she's boinked about like a silly puppy. I know when I take her there vet will advise to let her go before all our memories with her are tainted by bad memories. Not even going to think about it any more until after Christmas, would love her to get 2 Christmas times back with us (if not more)

((hugs)) for others in a similar situation, I've never been here before really and it's even harder than I thought it would be. Maybe I just wished in a way she'd go peacefully in her sleep one night without all these problems. Suppose it makes you think aswell if there was only this sort of dignity possible with humans how many would choose it.

Flower, I have said to DP it's worth looking, it's ours if we want it, so tiny however on the measurements but think I need to 'see' it to see if it will work. The lack of a garage when DPs stuff has filled ours, we have an additional conservatory and utility now too then there is just the fact the rooms in general are much smaller. She even said my FF and TD would have to go in the dining room but there wouldn't be room for a table in it. We got Megan back when she was over 10 years old so the premiums reflected that, we were limited to 2 companies who would cover her, the excess was several hundred on each of them too, so decided to save it incase she needed it. So far apart from her 'normal' supplements, food, jabs etc she hasn't needed anything so there is about £1800 in there.

Summermoon think of the money, kick DPs butt and tell him if he wants the financial rewards he'll have to help. You'll fit it in like many others do but it will take a bit of adjusting. At least it's respite from the loopy little ones :D

DS2 at Beavers at 5.30pm so going to do nothing apart from get him ready before then, just going to play with the new laptop, the buttons are all in the 'wrong' place.
One day I might be more organised...........

I REALLY REALLY REALLY dont want this job. I have NO time at all, and I thought it was bad before i got the job. I have only been out of the house ONE day and it is already a pit!!!!

The kids are completely loopy, and I just want to curl up in a ball and let the world get on with it!!!!

Hugs hon, it's not nice when you have to work, hope things calm down for you soon and you are able to get into a routine...

Maybe now is the time for 'the talk' - can't remember how many times I've had it but when things are getting out of hand, I very calmly tell them that if they want the stuff that my wages brings in then they will have to help me out around the home (the 'stuff' includes food, electric, water, roof over their heads, ect, because it would all go out the window if I had to pack up...,) and it works really well for a while, but after a few days/weeks you have to do a top-up...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Get hubby on board to, he lays down the law for a while to help me (he has more clout than me, might be coz they're used to my screaming at them and it goes in one ear and out of the other :D ) But seriously, get them to help you, even if it's just clearing up after themselves - good luck!

*hugs* Summermoon...but just think of the relative peace and quiet at work! And remember you're getting paid ;)

I've just managed to fill a whole crate full of Mr G's t-shirts, I know he doesn't need that many but he does wear them all over time so it seems a waste to throw them...especially as when I have my new wardrobes I will have space!

Ok I need to make tea and try and box some of the sheets and stuff. Will be nice to want a single sheet and be able to grab one straight away rather than hunting through double and king sized ones as well!
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

"It can either wait for you to buy something online and just remember the details you type in on your keyboard.
"Otherwise it can search your computer for any cookies you might have from when you've bought something in the past, and take them from there."
All on the press release on the bbc website, I know 2 people who've had it so far, they haven't lost anything as they don't shop online etc but they had the bug, or a similar one. I am always very careful when clicking anything on anywhere. I would hope I am careful enough to never have any issues but also only ever use a CC with a strict £500 limit.

OJK we're going to have a look and I do hope the hugeness appears, I only have pictures and measurements to go off as building sites closed, however a lack of a garage is a major concern, DPs stuff could fill a house on it's own! We've had to move his crosstrainer into the conservatory already to create space in there.

One deposited at Beavers, one sat half starkers as usual, one asleep on the sofa (oldest child I sometimes call DP) I suppose I should wake him as he's mean't to be going out.
