For all of you with children or who are children at heart here's a link for a personalised message from Father Christmas.

I just did it for my 12 year old and she's gone to bed smiling saying that Father Christmas knows all about her and what she wants. Priceless.

  • Evening  and an extra  to yet more newbies.

    Dusty - thanks for that.

Soappie - don't think it's flu, but the mingingest cold ever! Feel rough, but too guilty to take more time off work today. Hope it improves over weekend. DS is considerably better so planning to return to work on Monday.

Serena - hugs and prayers for Mum and you. Not selfish either, hun. Your Mum is the most important thing for you to deal with at the moment, so bound to be uppermost in your mind.

SS - so your friend's little boy will need another guardian :A to help him through his treatment and a few more prayers for him and his family. If you pm me his first name, I'll put a prayer request in at The Salvation Army on Sunday as well. (Every little helps. :D) And an extra dodgy :grouphug:for you, for being such a good friend.

Mudbath - healing thoughts and prayers to you.

Chunky - hugs for you and prayers for your friend as well as your Auntie.

Lil_me, Moam - hugs and prayers for you both too.

"Sitting with three candles glowing for those I had the pleasure of knowing " that is a lovely phrase, thank you.

Valli - I used to know some Kenyons in Bolton, but it's a long time ago!

Not too chuffed at the moment. I "won" a glass bird for my Christmas tree on ebay. I bid for it purely on sentimental grounds as we always had one and this is a "Vintage" one exactly like we had. I had an email from the vendor, very apologetic, as the bird has lost its tail. (It's there in the photograph). He thinks one of his cats may have had ot. He said he would refund immediately, sed the bird and send the tail on when he finds it or asked if I would give him a couple of days to check around the house for it. I've opted for the last one as I really want it, so just hoping he can find it, otherwise I will be asking for the refund.

Little or no flying done apart from my dailies, but my new tumble dryer was delivered today, so hoping DH will feel like moving it to where it should live. My foster puppy is off tomorrow as well. I was asked to take 3 9wk old pups today, but declined 1) because I'm not very well, 2) because I want to finish painting the lounge before Christmas 3) because they were Chinese Crested!

Been to two care homes today. I saw 4 candidates at the first home and told one of them off. I had her file in front of me and looked her straight in the eye and said "You haven't opened this since I was last here, have you?" She did have the grace to look very embarrassed and actually put that on her review. She had done no work in two months (being as I was off sick for 6 weeks). I asked if she wanted to do her NVQ and she said yes, so I told her she would have to do some work as I had already got one and didn't need another one. I also made sure her manager knew.

Anyway, just watching the last few minutes of Midsomer Murders, then off to bed. Tonight, I will be saying my prayers for all my Flylady (and gentleman) friends and then I think I need to count my blessings.

Goodnight all and God Bless. x

Holding new baby soappie, in her arms, hehe that's how rumours start! I just think it's a really special holding that start to life in your arms, seeing the beginning. Sorry going soft after my rough day :o

Speaking of babies, I'm just hoping little Matthew is better by Monday and DP as I want to steal him to take to our party and take to see santa :D haven't seen him for ages, miss him loads

Been looking at new tumble driers, argh, one I liked has a top emptying thing which is no good as mine needs to go under the bench (has to be condenser) bother. I am for the first time considering taking out one of the extended warranties aswell after the problems I've had with mine. I am doubtful about it being fixed, been googling the codes and to fix it 'properly' the parts are expensive, saying that it was £500 so might be worth it.

PF I think you were sensible saying no, I am sure someone else will. I've just been discussing fostering with someone. What TD did you get?

Triker that's really nice, we had a discussion about 'Santa experiences' today inc one who's little girl has told Santa what she wants but won't tell her Mam, she's beaming that Santa knows and promised she will get it.......but won't tell her what it is, her Mam even went back to ask Santa what it was who couldn't remember. Oh and the story of DS1 giving Santa a ticking off for the present he wanted 2 years ago and didn't get....:o
One day I might be more organised...........

    Pregnancy, Oestrogen, and Women
    PREGNANCY Q & A & more!

    Q: Should I have a baby after 35?
A: No, 35 children is enough.

Q : I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?

A: With any luck, right after he finishes university.

Q : What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex?
    A: Childbirth.

Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational.
    A: So what's your question?

Q : My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labour, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a cyclone might be called an air current.

Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.

Q : Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labour?
A: Not unless the word 'child support payment' means anything to you.

Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
    A: Yes, pregnancy.

Q : Do I have to have a baby shower?
A: Not if you change the baby's nappy very quickly

Q : Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A: When the kids are in university.

BOTHER - I might have actually broken the drier :o

Just been reading on ukwhitegoods.co.uk (great site! same thing as washerhelp ) anyway :o
Common causes of failure are switching the machine off to check on the clothes before the cycle has finished and badly blocked condensor unit.
Eeeek, when it went off I was worried over stuff not drying and opened the door a few times which
I’ll try to break it gently……. The single, commonest reason for the safety thermostat to trip is that people will open the door during the drying cycle. After 20 minutes, the inside of the dryer is running at 100c plus. The clothes are starting to warm through, steam is coming off. By an hour, they’re cooking nicely…… The control panel will tell you to set cottons for 90-120 minutes. If the door is opened after an hour (“To see how they’re doing”), the airflow stops, the temperature at the element soars (briefly) and the safety will trip. It happens all the time…..
:o looks like it might be my fault, but DPs said he will try to fix it, after telling me off for breaking it, it's just getting the time to do it........they do thermostat kits for about £20-30 on that site too :D might be fixed after all

**runs off to get the condensor trap out too so DP doesn't know that might have been a while aswell**
One day I might be more organised...........
