Serena, pigpen and Hippy thank you your cards have arrived safely. There are 4 packages still not sent out by the post office so don't panic if I haven't said your cards are here yet and you have sent them. I am going to chase that up tomorrow!

What a day. Arrived at first meeting to be told the children of 2 parents I know have passed away, 3 and 5 years old :( then my Dad called asking for my cousins number as someone had called to say an ambulance was outside my uncles aswell as a police car, he still has old friends in the area. They found him dead on his kitchen floor this morning, they think he had a heart attack, he had many medical issues but was a heavy drinker. Due to his drinking problem me and uncle were not close, I've seen him a few times over the last few years, the last time he was rather agressive unfortunately, verbally not physically, but so unpredictable. I'd just got back in touch this year with my cousins as after the contact broke down with their Dad and mine, then my aunty passing away who kept us in touch really I haddn't seen them for a long time (luckily as Dad didn't have their number) and I am ever so worried about them. We shared a few tears over the phone and I am going to try to get through to see them on Sunday.

Meal was fabulous however, fantastic food, definately will go back there as it was sooo nice, local home cooked lovelyness which was just what I needed, I could have done with a stronger drink but had to drive, bless him one of the guys offered to drive me home but declined his lovely offer as I knew I would need to drive later. The profesionals invited most couldn't make it due to the 'child protection' meetings now taking place because of a recent publicised event they are extremely busy, so was a bit more relaxed. Got a wonderful card from a friend with pictures of her son on who has CP, he's a lovely boy and seeing his smile always makes me smile so that was wonderful and has a special place. Way home was fun, was in the dales, sat nav took me over the tops, it was foggy so couldn't see how much SNOW there was up there. Was a bit scary.

Anyway home now, sorry I have read a little but my head isn't 'with it' enough to take most of it in at the minute. My TD is on the blink again so the house looks more like a laundrette, it's not drying and flashing that darn error code, think I might just have to just replace it even if it's only about 2 years old, grr!

Oh good news is lady that collapsed on me is back out of hospital.

    ((big hugs to all))

Sorry for offloading on you all, I know how many problems of your own you all have, but thank you, for just all being here and so lovely that I feel I can share.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Hello all

Back from seeing my friend and her gorgeous little boy, 1 week old today!

Am just in the middle of cooking dinner, toad in the hole, yum yum. Might need to nip to shop for sunflower oil though as not much fat has come out of the sausages and olive oil is not really idea for this...in fact better do that now, back later!

 Vaguely here. Forced myself to go to the Carol Service which I hate but it wasn't too bad and DD1's face lit up when she saw me which made it worth it :D Also this morning bought present for a friend who had a baby a couple of weeks ago and managed to get that to her, went to mother and toddler group which was good as it was the party and I forgot! And also managed to get a better looking child fireguard rather than the tatty one we have at the moment, it was free :D

Will finally get around to doing something later! Wondering whether to light a fire now as I might have to go out in a bit.
Well done on going - it makes them feel special when Mum or dad appears! I should get a slapped wrist for skim reading!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Evening everybody
what a horrible wet grotty day it has turned out to be here!

OMG it never rains but it pours for you flyladies - huge comforting hugs for serena, chunky, lil_me - may you have the strength to get through this trying time and prayers for your loved ones.

toochooseey - hope you feel better soon.
oddjob sorry if you felt left out:o - hope you are getting all ready for christmas - have you managed more sleep these nights??
Valli I would go alone or with a friend - I know you get on well with your Mum but she might be more uptight than you.
triker - good to hear you are on your feet again - take it easy - now that is a true friend!!! what an angel she is (even though she wont like being told so!!)
MOF77 well done in going up for the decors
lil_me glad you had a nice meal - did you wear your new suit - how did you feel? Give the TD a kick and tell it not to be so thoughtless at this time of the year - how inconsiderate to breakdown now.
dusty glad DS3 is feeling better - hope DS1 is not as bad.
pigpen - what a farce - they should have all been disciplined! You def need to do a formal complaint now.

mudbath wonder if your op is past now - hope you will soon be home and feeling better

hope I havent missed anyone this time:rolleyes:

I was at my diabetic clinic this afternoon - I have put on weight, my blood sugar was waaaaay too high, I have a urine infection(again), my blood pressure was perfect and so was my eyesight! 2/5 is not very good!!! they have also taken blood for the long term average blood sugar level and cholesterol so that might be fun!!!! And I have beenvery good at keeping of the sweets but have been eating more fruit so that might be the cause!!! Must try harder!
Was also in doing some practice on my presentation module as I have my exam for it on tuesday - that was ok considering i hadnt been in for 2 weeks but will do some over the weekend.

must go and get some things done now
    toots xx
