This might help all those stuck on the phone (over 50 mins yesterday before I gave up and 30 mins today before I broke), here is the 0800 number for Abbey Business - 0800 056 5151.
I've given up for today, hopefully something will be fixed for tomorrow, oh look a flying pig
On to the helpless desk now the 0800 number worked !
Now I must have a debit card so I can transfer money between my current and savings accounts !!!!!!, !!!!!! I don't want a debit card this is crazy, totally crazy.
Now they have to check my account to see if it has been run correctly ! so then they can issue a debit card ! This gets better - blood pressure rising !
Raised a complaint - I never saw this in their mail shot about the new security ( total ***k up more like ) requiring a debit card, which what the help desk are saying.
Card ordered, will go stright in the bin cut up, so I can continue to do what I could do last week.
3 attempts now to make this work - not happening been on call 30 minutes
Hold music driving me mad ! Seems like Abbey cannot even afford a more than track.
Now been asked to change web browser - was using firefox back to IE. Same problem and SSL Certificate is wrong !
Finally this new card number does not become active for 24 hours there's 45 minutes of my life wasted. Will see what happens tomorrow.
Seems new security system needs debit card a number attached to your account, to function correctly, well that's what I have been told. Call centre seem pretty clueless not their fault but you need to vent your spline somewhere.
Any recommendations for a 'Good' internet business bank ?

On the phone at the moment. Used the 0800 number from above and got through in 10 mins. :T The lovely Ashley has linked both accounts now after asking me about 25 security questions!!! :rolleyes:

Glad you got it working finally davybull, sadly the logon from the main Abbey site only works if you have managed to complete the migration from the Abbey Business site, without that you don't set a 5 digit reference number and without that you cannot logon, so I am still stuck as I cannot even get the migration part to work, just get the standard 'We have been unable to log you in....' message :S0

Well, I managed to get through on the magic 0800 number in 2 mins
I then got told that a few customers have had problems registering their accounts online and that Abbey would need to do it for me and send me my new logon details in the post. As I cannot register my account I am stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea so I have had to get them to register the account for me.
They are going to send me my new log on details which I have been advised will take 5 - 7 WORKING DAYS TO ARRIVE!!! So I now find myself without online access to my online bank account, potentially until the 18th December, thats if it doesn't get lost in the Xmas post.

But only via Internet Explorer, within Windows XP on an Intel based Mac, not satisfactory but it will do for now. A little tip: pay attention to the new questions and terminology they ask you as part of the new sign on procedure. These answers will be needed when you come to login in future although the whole process is far from idiot proof. When I managed to get online, I found I have two current business accounts in my list (I only have one), both have the same balances and transactions. They have been there every time I have logged on so far. My Reserve Account is visible however, I too dont seem to be able to transfer between that and my regular business account anymore. This is a fairly important function that I use regularly which has been withdrawn as a result of the upgrade. Anyone know of another financial institution that offers genuine free business banking?0

What a fiasco.
I have have two accounts - each with current and reserve. I managed to do the new registration pocess for one of them yesterday (which has a debit card) but not the other (which has an operator card). I managed to get through this evening very quickly on the 0800 number and for this latter account new details are being sent out - I was told it was nothing to do with the fact I only had an operator card for that account and not a debit/credit. Who knows now...
The other account which I could access did not have current and reserve accounts linked so I asked to link them - no problem I was told - done - log back in again and all will be fine.
I try to do so and login details are no longer working... What the F**k! Phone again - have to send details through post - 5-7 days.
What a bunch of incompetent retards...
In the future I would never choose an Internet only account or receive paperwork electronically - not because of security but because you can not trust organisations to manage IT projects properly without causing loads of grief for their clients.0 -
Just checked again and still cannot access transfer or make payments wait untill tomorrow.0
