The fact remains that Penge is most definately London and prices like 20K freehold (not shared ownership) in London were unheard of until recently.

OK I can't beat the previous Welsh houses on price, but when you've picked-up your bargain in Pontypandy, you're going to need an income to pay the mortgage. OK its a sh.t hole but the point is its a sh.t hole in London and its guide price is just 20K.

I wouldn't call Bourdon Road a sh.t hole, unless it has gone seriously downhill lately. I can think of far worse bits of Penge/Anerley, let alone elsewhere.

I am staggered at the guide price though - I should think there has to be something wrong with the property . Unless there are 2 different ones for exactly the same auction it looks as though that studio sold for £115,000 in March 2007. A different one sold for £71,500 in September 2008.

addiscomber are you in addiscombe? im in beckenham but was bought up in penge. if i had the cash i would have bought that studio for one of my step children to live in, but unfortunately i only have the same amount of money in debt rather than savings

All I can find that are really cheap are mobile homes & shared ownership..

BUT I found this in Crawley, pretty cheap

for the area, definately, but still not cheap enough for this thread, mobile homes and shared ownership shouldnt count, i cant stand it when they come up on my right move searches, they should have a filter for them
