Yes, Im an east ender and I do find that outside of the "edgier" areas of London people tend to think you are a care in the community job if you dare to chat to them at bus stops or in shops. Some even ignore you!! But I always think, as my dear mum would have said, their loss, not mine.0

LOL - when we were going up north for a weekend break we stopped at a shop to get some sandwiches and my husband really couldnt understand what the lady was saying - you can tell cant you when your OH is struggling. It was the "meduck" in the sentence he couldnt get a grip on. pmsl

I've found this, but it might be a 'city' thing because when I worked in Leeds they seemed to think you were odd if you chatted in the shops.
