Do you not jot down the prices on your list as you go round shops?
It's a good discipline and you would quickly realise that things were totting up a tad too high too fast.
Oh. My. God. How simple is that? I always try to add it mentally as we go round and end up being really crabby cos I can't keep count! Thank you, you have just revolutionised my weekly shop. I always refused to use the calculator on my phone as I thought I'd look like a nerd :rotfl:0 -
ha ha!!! many a time have i, knowing i do not have a penny over £11 gone round the shop and added it up on my calculator as went. tip for you though, write down prices to. in case, like i, you accidentally knock the cancel button, near to the end of the shop and it drives you nuts!! doh!!debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0

Jotting prices down is so simple - it was bylromarha who mentioned this, way back in the good old R&R days of Mr T(which still occur when CS can't understand catchweight DTD's).
It's better too, in that you can sit down at end of aisle and check your receipt vs. figs before you leave store.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

dont worry bout the hijack peeps x
im not at all worried about the company OH works for, they are truly thriving off the recession, so i think its just a case of payroll being useless
they are trying to convince us that he has been paid right so i have no idea what is going on there really0 -
That's a postive thing Bumble - I guess some companies are actually doing well from the recession...
Keep fighting - it sounds like they're 'trying it'!!LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never
Challenges - 2009 - Reduce CC to £1k by December
June - Food £86/£130 * Petrol £50/£80 * Weekly allowance * £80/£1600 -
they are, they have also said they arent paying overtime, full stop, just no pay for working late, but if he leaves before the tills are cashed up etc he faces a disciplinary, so either way he is being done over :mad:LittleEmms wrote: »That's a postive thing Bumble - I guess some companies are actually doing well from the recession...

he seems to think it will be better as he climbs up the ladder, but it really wont, yes its more money, but it mans less time at home. his brother is a manager for a different store within the company and has seen his son for 2 days out of the last 17  i do *not* want that for my daughter, but i suppose i cant really argue, because im not bringing anything into the house

Dear bumblebee -
they are, they have also said they arent paying overtime, full stop, just no pay for working late,
I will say this is not legal, someone will add that it depends on his Terms of Contract.
Do you have these? - it's very important that they are available to you both and then have them checked over by some one at the CAB, for example.
Is there Union Representation to call on, for clarification, if nothing else?
You are being very wise in your way of raising your daughter and can see what you do NOT want at close quarters, so do not let this - or any other- Company use Credit Crunch as an excuse for Employee Abuse.
Please do not let this drop.
I'm smiling
and waving:hello:, not being fierce at you, but for you.
(But don't you DARE equate being stay at home Mummy,
but i suppose i cant really argue, because im not bringing anything into the house
- with being barred from just, CORRECT action.)CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

i have told him several times to see CAB about the overtime issue, as it does state in his contract that any overtime is paid
between 39-45 hours, its normal pay, and anything over 45 hours is 1 1/2 times pay, he just says there is no point blah blah blah
ive even thought about getting him to speak to some of his colleagues (including those from other stores) and threaten with small claims court (i have no idea if they could do that, but really, it is their money, and the company is basically witholding money they owe to their employees, im sure someone will be able to tell me if i am right)
well, its saturday, so he will finish at least half an hour late tonight (how it takes an hour for 4 people to cash up 2 tills, ill never know)
oh quick question, should he be paid overtime for attending staff meetings? and if these fall on his day off, can he refuse to go if he is not being paid for it?0
