 OH has been underpaid  but we have still made the overpayment on the rent, but i have no idea how we are going to get through this month

i think OH is going to have to stop his standing order to monument just for this month, because thats one of the easiest things to do, gggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i am soooooooooooooooooooo mad!!!!!!!!!!!  :mad:0 -
ok, we are really going to struggle this month now

we went to lidl instead of tesco, after my dad said it was much cheaper there, we got half way round and werent impressed, went to the checkout and it was £35 for the stuff we had bought!!!!!!!!!!! we had hardly anything, well we had quite a few bags, but it wasnt the main stuff, so we had to go to tesco afterall, and spent £65 and got most of the stuff we needed, we probably could have got the stuff we bought in lidl, in tesco for about £20, so we wont be going there again!!!!!!!!
but the cupboards and fridge are full, and there is some space in the freezer for me to get some of the batch cooking done, going to do lots of bolognese, and soups this month0 -
Good luck, Bumblebee. God bless you and your family. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

Looking in as usual, bumblebee and sorry to read of your GRRRRRRRRR shopping at Lidl.
Do you not jot down the prices on your list as you go round shops?
It's a good discipline and you would quickly realise that things were totting up a tad too high too fast.
Also, you can check that the price you see is the price that's charged.
If it's not, Tesco gives you twice the Difference back.
See here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1075301&page=37&highlight=tesco+misprices
Other stores give you the difference and a £2(or more) cashcard.
You will manage because you always show courage here, are clear-headed, focussed and giving your daughter a wonderful start, full of good money sense to absorb painlessly.
Think of your first lovely shower or soak in bath with smellies and bubbles when the bathroom's done - it'll be gorgeous.

^^^^^ And she is really good at the Tesco stuff.:D
Hi Bumble bee, i was just wondering if you made a menu plan at all? That way i reckon you could reduce the shopping bill even further. I also use mysupermarket to price compare as well. Just a thought and I am sure you will soon hammer the bill down.:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
OH is going to chase up his wages again today, apparently a lot of people havent been paid right, so hopefully it will get sorted soon
i do menu plan, but its more a list of what meals we will have in the month, then just pick off the list in the morning, get out whatever needs defrosting, and cross it off the list, otherwise we would get bored of it being too rigid, and would probably be more likely to veer off of it x0 -
Hi Bumble
Sorry I not been in for a bit! Good to hear about your bathroom
- sorry to hear about OH's wages
- I hope it is on the way to being sorted? I agree with you on the menu planning - I get a rough idea of what dinners I may cook and then at the beginning of that week try to schedule what days but without being too strict.
That's rubbish on the Lidl's - I guess it what works for you and if Mr T's is the right place - keep to it.... I guess until we try these things we just don't know!!
I hope all is on the up for you and things are going a little better now xxLBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Sorry bumble, this one's a worry to read, at times like these especially.
Keep us up to date, please - you need more assurance than hoping it will be sorted soon.
You really are so well-organised and far-thinking, so easy for your little one to learn without knowing. You'll reap wonderful rewards with her, seeing all of this carried through to her children one day.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
