WHY oh why is everything so difficult to claim for?
It's the people with far too much to cope with in general day to day living that end up having to fight the hardest for stuff, treatment, benefits, equality etc etc, because it's assumed we won't fight back. IMO anyway lolIf my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0 -
I've just checked our bank and OH has had a £25 cold weather payment put in this morning. We haven't had a letter or anything, it's just appearedin the bank.
I'm quite surprised we've got it to be honest because last year we got nothing and also the weather station they use for us is at least 15 miles away and we live alot higher up. We can be snowed in and about 5 degrees colder up here compared to the weather station they use.
It does seem unfair that it has to be 0 or below for 7 consecutive days, it could be -1 for six days, 1 degree for one day, then -1 for the next 6 days and you would get nothing!Dum Spiro Spero0 -
We got one, nearly fainted with shock. Only need another £400 and I can pay this winters fuel bill.Barclaycard 3800

I am 'lucky' in that my hubby works and we have our own house (with a substantial mortgage) but then I always worked full time before becoming disabled so it's not as though we are 'rich'.
Anyway, what I suppose I am getting at is that I wish we could afford to have the heating on and I am more often than not found to be sat in the house wrapped in a fleece wearing my gloves as I am so cold due to my limited mobility. Surely, if this was something that affected government ministers then they would act on it immediately but I'll bet they are nice and warm in their lovely government offices.
Another bugbear is the way they work out EMA payments - they never take outgoings like mortgage into consideration when paying them out but that's a stopry for another thread, sorry!
im sure that everyone who gets dla gets an extra £10 every november/december in with the normal payment xx0 -

Hi
We I tried to phone to find out about the payments and the runaround is !!!!!!!!I keep being given tel numbers and 7 in total so now going to have a cup of tea and try again still got no answers.
WELL after another few calls I phoned the helpline and was given another nu and was told no one has to claim it all benefits are scanned and those people who are entitled to get the £25 cold weather payment will be made direct into your bank in stages so give it another 2 weeks0 -
