Evening everyone
Late and tired post from me. Was up really early for me on a Saturday, did the DW, emptied WM and put another load on, did general tidy round then we went to Hanley to get some more christmas bits, was there at 9 but it was still very busy. Went round to visit OH's sis but she was out, her OH made us a very welcome cuppa.
Then went to Trentham Gardens, I love it there, its not just a garden centre it has lots of little shops too, I don't buy anything cos it's too expensive, but I like seeing how the other half live :rotfl: Of course it was packed everywhere. But it was nice just browsing and watching people stuck in the queues:D
Stopped on the way home for a 2-for-1 pub meal so no cooking for me today.
Tomorrow we have to have a thorough clean through, I will do bedrooms and bathroom and OH can do kitchen and living room, he doesn't know yet
Going to wrap my christmas hampers tomorrow too, think I have everything I need for at least 4 of them, dunno where I am going to put them though
If I don't get here tomorrow, have a good day everyone xxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Hi guys,
I have been reading sporadically but it has been a manic couple of weeks....
The kids have been harping on about the decorations as the whole of the street appear to have theirs up and as much as I wish I could majic away xmas today they have decorated the tree and the deccies are up. (you should have seen Smoky on the step ladder struggling to get the blessed things out of the attic and of course the tree was at the back, cue one very shaky Smoky climbing in to the attic to get it and having a nervous breakdown trying to get out and back on to the ladder again    .)
On Monday I put on one of our gas fires as it was so cold and within 10 mins there was smoke pouring out of the front. I turned the fire off but it kept smoking so I did a 999 and piled all of us out of the house. Cue one fire engine with sirens going and men piling in to the house throwing open windows, turning off the gas and checking over the gas fire (by now this has stopped smoking and all that is left is the smell). In walks another fireman saying that other engines are on the way and he is told to cancel them. The fireman in charge says has anything got down the front? and the eldest says oh! yes LO has posted this that and the other down there  He turned to me and said - Mrs Smoky, you really need to get your fires serviced!!!!!!! Oh! the sheer embarresment (sp). So on Monday I am awaiting a man to come and service both fires and the boiler (might as well while he's here) and hope to be able to use it then.
The eldest is being referred to CAM for some phsychological help but I believe there is quite a waiting list and I have also been informed by LO's teacher that he needs speech therapy and allthough I and his childminder can not see an obvious reason for it I have agreed for the referral to go ahead. Apparently he is not pronouncing the sounds from the back of his throat correctly but even being told this I can not hear what the problem is.
OS wise - the house is spotless, washing up to date, ironing to be completed after this post, cupboards and freezers stocked up for the next month, we are having plenty of home cooked food and your blankets are getting a lot of use. :T :T
Pen-pin - I have missed your posts when I've popped in, good to see you back.
Mioliere - I have been thinking of and praying for your LO.
Taplady - Gentle hugs and prayers for Lesley.
Betheebee and Meanmarie - Gentle hugs to you both and your husbands, I hope you are both coping OK.
Welcome to the newbies and very gentle hugs to all else in need.

Hi everyone, sorry I've been a bit AWOL! Had a friend stay on Thurs night and she ended up coming over quite early and then poor thing was ill all night (after we'd gone to bed) so she stayed till her OH came to get her at about 5pm so I haven't got much done (not that I'm complaining, had a good laugh with her and nice to have a bit of lazy time).
Today though OH and I faced Woolies, it was a bit manic and definitely not that much at 50% off. Got some christmas goodies (chocolate mostly) and some kitchen stuff so it was worth it. Got OH to come to the Weigh House and the greengrocers with me to show him how cheap it was then we went to Asda for a few bits and bobs too (over £100 worth! don't know how we do it sometimes, though it was less than most months big shops). Almost sorted for christmas now, although we are still sans tree. We'll get around to it though at some point, lol. Been writing my christmas card list, it's complicated making sure you send them to the right people etc, etc. My parents still put us on a lot them, which is greatGoing to send my cousins etc on Facebook cards on there to see if we can start that up as it's free. Makes much more sense than sending loads all over the country really and it saves the trees
Not done much OS for a couple of days, although I did make a lovely lentil and potato stew yesterday, first time I've cooked with lentils! Went down really well, really filling and warming for a cold day. OH said it was really good, like broth without the meat. Even our friend who doesn't really eat veg ate it up. Going to make some more Twink's tomorrow with raspberries for a change and might make some fairy cakes or something. Forgot to pick up condensed milk so will wait to make bounty balls till next week sometime.
*huggles* to everyone, thinking of Lesley and the little girl in particular. Keep warm and take care x0
