Afternoon folks you all sound as if you've had a busy day. No shopping for me today as we ended up doing a deal on DH's van so we are now officially a one car family. Afternoon all,

Very cold here today, overslept this morning but got DD4 to the bus she wanted....eventually, she is never ready to go anywhere on time and drives me nuts but try to keep my mouth shut.

DD3 and bf decided to go to Kerry for the night ( only 150 miles) so I have her mental dog, he has a lovely nature but is daft as a brush, our dog is not mad about him, she is much more timid and I think that he frightens her with his boisterous ways.

Found the cot that I had 'lost'....its in the shed I thought it was in with all the other stuff that doesn't fit in the house, but was covered up with other stuff so will have to get some help getting it out to-morrow....was wondering how it could have disappeared, now I just need to find the top of the high chair and my big kitchen table and we are all set for Christmas.

Good to see you back PenPin

Hugs to all who are not well, welcome to newbies, have a good evening all

    Hi all

I think iv now made my mind up about cooking the beef in the slow cooker.
Im going to slow cook it with some water and an onion. in the slow cooker. then when the beef is cooked i shall use the water and onion to make onion gravey.

Im looking forward to it already.
At the moment im just cooking corned beef hash for dinner tonight.
But before we eat we need to feed the twins so im just off to do that now.

    have a great evening all

    Evening all,
I've had a productive OS afternoon still doing fircones, wreaths and a bit on 3 swags. Time for a break, I did stop to throw a curry together and wop it in the SC.

MUSTANGSAL, If the thread is looping on the underside of the material it may be that the tension needs adjusting on the spool (the round thingy that is within the machine) or perhaphs the cotton reel needs more tention if the loop is on top of the material, try twiddling the dial on the front to + (plus) to even tension. Hope you get it fixed, I have been near to tears when the thread kept snapping, I tried everything then discovered that the thread was faulty.

CELYN, What does your (Avitar?) sign mean please?

REDRUBY, Oh, I was hoping you were pysikick, phsic, or psico-delic or something. Any hoo I'm still impressed that you figured out the current users list. I didn't know it was there. You are thoughtfull to check everyday, gonna have a look now see if I can find it.

    Hope it's a good W/E for all.

Sorry MIOLIERE, I was busy typing and cross posted, sorry to hear Lesley is not so good. She is receiving all the care and love possible, what a good friend you are, please look after yourself aswell. God Bless

  • Dinner was lovely. Had M&S choc pudding afterwards and have lots of double cream left over. The tub says do not freeze but I am sure i have read somewhere that you can freeze double cream. Does anyone if this is right?

PenPin - great to have you back! You've been missed.

Thanks to all for their good wishes for the LO (no further progress but I am taking that as a good sign) and thanks, also, for DS2's birthday wishes. I had a houseful for lunch which was great but meant I didn't have time to make the dumplings for our stew tonight; we survived without them!

Enjoyed Strictly very much tonight but I can never tell who is going to make it to the final. I still think it may be Austin and Rachel even though Austin didn't do so well tonight.

Well, I've just had a bath and we have a bottle of wine to crack open, so cheers to everyone. Have a great evening.

Had ham for dinner and now it has been announced on news that we are not to eat any Irish pork until further notice, and that we should bin any we have...so rest of the ham, sausages and anything else I find will have to go...there has been a serious toxic polution found in the south east. I never remember this kind of thing happening before, so am naturally very concerned ...it is going to be a tough time for pig farmers until it is all sorted, coming up to Christmas when everybody would be having ham with their turkey....so I guess a bigger turkey is in order to feed the ravenous hordes, maybe will have beef as well.

With that note of gloom will say good night all, sleep well
