TAPLADY, Thinking of you, Lesley and her family.
CANDY, Hope DD can get things sorted, what with the worry and helping DM's friend just make sure you take time for yourself.

CHRISCA, Happy Birthday to you _party_
I'm going to have a change from wiring the fircones and start on the xmas wreaths ready to add greenary next week. Only done 8 xmas cards that have to be sent abroad.
When I take all the cards down after xmas I write on the back of the new calendar who we received cards from so I don't leave anyone off my list the following year. I do that in alphabetical order so I can go through our address book without having to go back through, sad sad or what?0 -
Morning everyone. Stuck in work until 4pm, at least its a nice crisp day, blue sky & sunshine. Need to pop into town after work to pick up a few bits and pieces, hopefully it should have all calmed down by then.Halight - speaking as a twin, wait until they are older. The stories my parents have of me & my bruv when we 3 or 4 years old are great.Betheebee - I never have the foresight to collect fir cones & the like, I'm sure your house will look great when its all finished.****N9eav - won't the sherry affect your vision again?:D *****Cold baked gammon & potato wedges for tea, then feet up doing nothing.0

Hello everybody :santa2: and hugs to all who need or want them. Mr Rage has gone on a wedding drive today! £30 in the pot!! :j I have posted my e-bay stuff, got my prescription, cleaned out the budgies and their house, vac'd, cleaned the kitchen cupboards (they are starting to look a tad tired so maybe an ikea sale calls), fed outside birdies and even managed first thing this morning to go on the transcription website and do a bit of work. I didn't finish on the website 'til nearly 1 this morning as it is as there was loads of work on so I finished at about 7pm yesterday then went back on about 10 pm until 1 am. I am shatterd.... Right I am now off to look for a recipe on the OS board for enchilada sauce (Asda have stopped doing their version and it was fab with refried bean enchiladas). Later on we are going to go and get a 3 drawer plastic unit thingy from somewhere cheap so I can put all my excess avon in. I've decided to give up being a rep so I'm sending back as much as I can as it's not selling on e-bay either and what I can't send back will keep us in toiletries for,oh, at least a year :rotfl: "More bubble bath Vicar?" :rotfl: Lunch today for me will be the 2nd half of my chinese from last night and then, hopefully, dinner with be enchiladas!!But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

Nor can I - that's the problem!!!!! It's Tru's fault!!! :rotfl:
I will have to dig out my Xmas cd's & get someone different and much nicer - (sorry Sir Cliff fans!!) in my head instead....
I'm going to have a go at making meringue again later - I don't seem to have the knack for some reason & the last time I tried to do it for a pavlova base, I somehow got it too 'heavy' and it wouldn't whip into shape. Don't know if I overwhipped it, or put too much sugar in, or what. I did use a spotlessly clean metal bowl & metal whisk, so there shouldn't have been any grease/oil to affect it. So any tips....???
Also I fancy having a go at profiterolesLive your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
afternoon all
penpin so glad to see you back:hello:
mioliere happy birthday toDS:bdaycake:
happy birthday to Candygirls doggie:dance:
got to go shopping and drop DD1 at gym will sign in later and read thread properly0 -
Mustangsal - so sorry you are having that stress. This time of year can really bring out the worst in people. Hope it all blows over. You can always come on here, either to moan or just say hello..
Mioliere - good news about the little one, still praying.
Penpin - it is good to see you again. I understand your feelings on the helper, you seem to have had such a lot of problems with them.
N9eve - sherry affects me in strange ways. I only taste the first sip, so the Tesco's own brand would be fine, or even a wino's special. After the first sip all control of my knees goes and I get all giggly. I can never remember much about the second sip and I don't believe a single word dear heart says about what happens after that!
Dear heart went into town today. He braved Marks and Spencers (which is incredibly heroic for him as he is desperately affected by crowds, almost a phobia). He said he would bring home something nice for tea. He brought home a casserole with dumplings that cost £4 and was to be put in the microwave. I believe it was the dumplings that did it. I am finally getting the OS mindset. All I could think was that I could get two meals for that. I need to work on dumplings. Is there a way of doing them in the oven? I know that the basic recipe is something like one part suet, two parts flour, perhaps herbs or a pinch of mustard powder and mix to soft dough, but after that I get rather haphazard. Could I just cook them in broth to have with reheated stew?
Candygirl - you seem to be caught in the middle so much. I do hope that things are working out for you.
Well, dear heart is having a nap, little bear is having a nap, and I suppose I ought to do something, but I suspect I will be just pootling around.
Hugs to all, and I hope everyone is staying warm.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
