Well there are no other cats around so it wouldn't be that.
I think It's just part of her personality.

Oh's mum grows catnip in her garden, when it's grown you'll find his cat mooching around it somewhere, and also a few strays hiding around. Must be highly addictive! Hehe.

That was just an example, they can get funny over all sorts of things!

Wouldn't advise getting a kitten if you want an indoor cat, I don't think I could have kept my cat in if I tried, he was jumping to get out, and is now out all the time (have a cat flap)
I work 12 hour shifts, and go away for nights the odd weekend, I just leave out dry food and water and he is fine. If I go away for longer, I just get a friend to pop in and feed him and give him a cuddle.
Cats are very independent animals though, and you may find you will have to let them out if they want out, would be a shame not too.
p.s, I live next to a fairy busy road, my cat tends to be too scared of the cars to go near it anyway though.

all cats sleep for about 18 hours a day. our kitten goes mental for about half hour, sleeps for a couple of hours, eats and then does the same thing over again!

Kittens are fine being indoor cats. My Oscar has been an indoor cat since I first got him as a young kitten, he was fine and still is.

Why not if you are worried get two? They will keep each other company :D

I also have 2 RSPCA cruelty cats. I work similar hours to you and they are quite happy being on their own all day. I have a cat flap so they have the option to go out but rarely do as they prefer their home comforts! They go out to do their "business" and come straight back in again. In the summer when the doors are open, they go no further than the garden.

When I'm at home during the day (holiday or sick or whatever) I actually feel that I'm intruding on their space and getting under their feet!!

My cats are happy just lazing around all day and waiting for me to come home from work.

    Good luck.
