Mine is to move house too, have a flat I don't like much and would like to move to a house that I'd stay in for a while. Also I like the idea of my paypacket being ALL mine so will probably try to be mortgage free asap too. I can only imagine that feeling...Mortgage OP 2026 £640/2000Mortgage balance: £32,222

Hi,
It's great to see what others want to achieve.
I want ...
to be able to go on holiday and be able to pay for it up-front
to have double glazing (it's so cold!!!!)
to do up the kitchen and bathroom
to sell up and move to somewhere bigger
to be able to get married and start my marriage debt-free
to not have to keep asking myself if I can afford it.
to never be back in this mess again!

I want to get out of debt and have some savings for two reasons
1. to leave my job and take a less stressful part time position.
2. buy my own house.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
To get a good night's sleep! Seriously, worrying about money all the time really does tire me out. I can't be bothered with this amount of worrying and fretting over the basics in life like 'how will I feed myself next week?'
Even after knocking more than £30K off my debt over the past few years, I still can't get a good nights sleep as being in debt has robbed me of the right to feel settled and secure in my own home.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Really enjoyed reading this thread and most peoples reasons mirror mine.
My motivation is my daughter. She is almost 4 but I was my money situation to never effect her. She has no concept of money now and needs very little so I want to be debt free by the time she is old enough to understand if that makes sense.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

I want to be debt and mortgage free so that I can work as little or as much as I want and that I can do whatever I want when I want without too much worry.0
