I do not think your can compare the clothing from Primark with the stuff in Woolies. In my experience the quality from Primark is not that high and stuff does not wash too well. When you are talking about baby stuff, it spends more time in the wash than out so I think it is worth paying a bit more. The Ladybird range is very nice quality.
(trying to quote above text
personally i never have am problem with primark clothes, always find they wash and wear really well, and also very good price as well.
whereas ladybird clothing do exactly the same except they are twice the price or if not more.
so shop in Primark then!!Freebies - Savvy Shopping Bag, Energy Saving Plug, Hugo Boss SampleWinnings - Dvd The Road sold on Ebay for a tenner:j0 -
They will take it back within 28 days if you go online later and find it cheaper elsewhereYou don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

NOT true - I went to the sale on Friday am and my Woolies had a small section at the front with 50% off - in fact all the stuff that they would have had in their usual Xmas sale anyway (which Woolies usually start on about Xmas eve).
So be glad that they are reduced for Christmas when you need them!
The rest of the store had labels of 10%, 20% and 30% off. The clothes were not discounted at all,
All clothes were 10% off, Schoolwear all 50% off!
and the 3 for 2 offers on chocolate etc. had been withdrawn.
What more do you want??? You cant have 3 for 2 and extra discount on top!
This was not, and never would be, a clearance sale of all stock at major discounts - you would have been better off with the 20% F&F discount the previous weekend.
Exactly, so why are people moaning, its getting right on my tit, just read the bloody signs
Woolworths colleague store 1246.
Ps there are good bargins to have, you just gotta find them, we have loads of childrens books at 10p each and the 20% on top, STOP MOANING! If you dont like it, dont bother shopping there!:mad:Freebies - Savvy Shopping Bag, Energy Saving Plug, Hugo Boss SampleWinnings - Dvd The Road sold on Ebay for a tenner:j0 -

Customer service and decent deals will always attract customers. Ratty sales staff who chew gum and chat to their mates instead of serving you, and made up "discounts" which are actually more expensive than Tesco don't.
It's a sad day for those of us old enough to remember when Woolies was a good shop, but it won't be with us for much longer. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
People don't, and they aren't - which is why Woolies has gone bust and is about to close.

I think your being a bit harsh about the staff, you must have had a bad experiance as im certanly not like that.
How is it a made up discount?? EVERYTHING in the shop has been reduced, even if it is only 10%. If we are more expensive then so what, we cant always beat other competitors.
You also seem to think that Im some kind of student chav by your quote on those of us old enough?? I have worked for Woolies for nearly 7 years and have children.
If you all shopped at Woolies before, we might not be in administration now, just remember that :-(Freebies - Savvy Shopping Bag, Energy Saving Plug, Hugo Boss SampleWinnings - Dvd The Road sold on Ebay for a tenner:j0 -
We would shop there if it was competetively priced to other places. You can't expect a customer to favour a more expensive store for the same item just because of its name.
Even quality street tins for example are 6.99 - even the corner shop near me are selling at £5.0 -

I completly agree with you, all Im saying is that its not fair for the likes of Woolies staff to hear people slagging us off for a con sale when its not, its not nice.
Also I think Woolies has good offers on, just not all the time, ie the quality street tins were recently 3 for 2 and before that they were £4.99 so it just goes to show that you have to shop around.Freebies - Savvy Shopping Bag, Energy Saving Plug, Hugo Boss SampleWinnings - Dvd The Road sold on Ebay for a tenner:j0 -
Hi Everyone
This is a grabit thread. How about everyone starts posting about the bargains they have found rather than moaning about what's not on offer and the staff.
Good luck to the staff losing their jobs.0 -
Heres the thing with the sale at Woolworths - yes, everything has been reduced. The posters, to me, weren't misleading, although the rumours were
.
I think what a lot of people are "moaning" about is that before the "up to 50% off sale" started, some prices were actually a lot lower (ie half price some toys etc, plus 3 for 2,s). Add to that the 20% off F and F vouchers that many folk had (including me) and you can see that this latest sale isn't necessarily a great money-saver for the customer.
I agree that Ladybird is lovely stuff, but to be honest, babies and toddlers tend to outgrow their clothes before they wear out, even Primark brands. Even 6 years ago, when my daughter was a baby, I could really only afford Ladybird clothes if they were in the sale.
I tend to agree with the posters who say that Woolworths is overpriced, and it has been for quite some time. I can't agree that the staff are anything less than helpful and attentive though - at all of my local branches, they are great. Even through this weekends madness, they have gone out of their way to help (I can only guess at how many thousands of price checks they've done).0 -
