Ah, well, at least you can consider it semi-OS as you're bulking out all that meat with cheap (and delicious fresh!) tagliatelle. Plus if it's not worth pushing the boat out for your mother's birthday then I don't know what is :).
  • Hi All

You obviously all know each other very well - I feel a bit like an eavesdropper!:o However, the blurb at the top says everyone welcome, so here goes. It's great to meet with likeminded MSE addicts - I only found the site last month, and DH says I'm obsessed already! It's just so good to have people to share with. I work/meet with great people but they either don't understand or go glassy eyed when I get excited about hot water bottles from Poundland that I've knitted covers for as Chrissy prezzies, etc. And as for 'waste not, want not' meals, I'm sure they think I'm from another planet!

So, if there's room for another (not so) little one ...

PS I have asked someone about how to join 'wooligans' but no reply - can anyone tell me how to find out more, please? I put it in on search but just got lots of general knitting stuff.

    Love to all, Chris :j

  • Chrisbethany - they are so lovely on here! Everyone is so welcoming, and you get so much sensible advice and really good suggestions.

Little bear is in his playpen, hopefully heading towards a much needed nap. He was just wilful this morning - tried to pull the internet connection out of the wall. When I asked him to stop I got a look of pure defiance. I believe it is the terrible twos!

Dear heart took a lot longer to get to work, but got there safe. All the snow is thawing so t should (I do hope) be easier for him coming back.

I am waiting on the delivery - I don't know how much later it will be than normal. There is so much weather and a visitor to next door has just parked outside our house so the poor delivery man will be struggling over the muddy, slushy, unadopted road. I wonder if they have rung me? I have had to unplug the landline, due to little bear.

I am so sorry, I have nothing OS to report. Although I have put two things on ebay, during a lull from little bear - does that count?

Well, still no idea what to have for tea, but I will try and make something really nice, but I can't really get started as I don't want to be in the middle of something before the dratted delivery comes...

MSD - as a thought, have you looked at Hawkin's Bazaar? Last I looked they were on quidco. I used to get things from there for dear heart's cousins' little ones, as it has all sorts of quirky stuff. When little bear is a bit older most of his presents will be coming from there. I am so sorry that you are suffering from this, it is a rotten thing when families fall out.

I know! Rice pudding! I'll get that made for dear heart! I am sure I have a recipe somewhere...

Afternoon everybody.Kind thoughts going out to all those in need.....

The 8" of snow didnt appear here, its been wet,but there was still ice underfoot here and there so a bit treacherous.

I went into town for my hair appt that was cancelled on Tuesday.DS ran me in and picked me up as he had a doctors appointment.I told him to pick me up from Aldi,so I went to the market first after the hairdressers, and bought our turkey. Its not far to walk to Aldi, but it weighed a ton-(OK just over 19lbs but you know what I mean) and i was staggering along with it in both hands until I got to the trolleys and plonked it in with a sigh of relief. Then I got some more heavy things like a bottle of port, and sherry and a 3 bird roast, which we'll have at New Year.Think thats me done now for Christmas food wise,I've got Tesco delivering on the Monday with fresh stuff, felt lucky to have got a slot, they'd all gone when I looked the day after.
Tea tonight is mince and chips as requested by DS,so will pop the mince in the Remoska shortly, and go and tidy the freezer after I dumped the turkey in.

Please take care, and all keep warm.xx

Welcome to Chrisbethany, you'll soon know our names.

Ohh my post got moved here, I have always been a bit wary to post here and thought I would be an interloper :D Well I guess that's me here now, so daily posts from me too from now on:T
  • Hello,
I've been lurking and posting a little bit on here, but never on the daily thread. I'd like to join in more and start baking and stuff.

I'm doing a course until just after Christmas that involves loads of reading and trying to write essays etc so once that is out of the way and handed in then I want to be Superwoman !! Well, maybe just bake the occaisional cake and remember to clean the house more often !!

It's after five and I STILL don't know what's for tea !! Not very OS I'm afraid !
Think I'd better go and rummage in the freezer and hope we have some oven chips left !

    Love and hugs
