Not sure why you posted this long 'reply' to me. It just repeats everything I've already read. I posted on this discussion thread because I was joining in with the discussion and posting what happened to me just as others have. Thanks for trying though.

Don't let it worry you. He/she/they have just discovered 'cut and paste', and are busy spamming any threads they come across. :D
  • My other half got an invoice through after parking (and spending the whole time in!) Mcdonalds Stanstead. Obviously, after reading the advice given by you kind people on here we have ignored the ticket, but I did send a message to Mcdonalds through their website asking if they knew what was going on at their car parks. Today, two weeks after I contacted them, I got a reply:

    Dear Mr

I am writing further to your e-mail regarding your visit to our Stansted restaurant. I have
noted your comments and welcome the opportunity to confirm our policy on this matter.

As a company, putting in place enforcements within our car parks is only done after careful
consideration and very much as a last resort. Primarily, we use parking measures to ensure
there are spaces available for our customers' vehicles, as well as to deter unwarranted or
unreasonably prolonged usage of the facility. This is especially necessary at our restaurants
which are in close proximity to airports such as Stansted.

I can confirm this parking area is managed by an independent company who are responsible
for monitoring the car park and taking details of registration numbers. The regulations and
signs at the restaurant clearly state our policy and the relevant charges.

I trust you will appreciate that in order to maintain a consistent approach; we have to adhere
to the guidelines in place. As such, in a situation such as a clear contravention of parking
regulations, we are unable to deal with any specifics or cases on an individual basis. Suffice
to say, if a customer contravenes the clearly displayed parking regulations, they will receive a
    ticket.

Thank you for contacting us and again for the opportunity to comment.

    Yours sincerely

Oviously, yes they do know what goes on, and they are washing their hands of the whole affair!

You should let her know that only local councils and the police can issue parking tickets and she's talking out off her !!!!.

I'm amazed that you thought it worth the time to do so.

Anyone can issue a "ticket" AFAIK but only the council and police ones are enforceable fines (sometimes). The others are unenforceable civic penalties. She is not the only one talking out her àrsë.

A ticket could be a PCN for example.

They are not parking tickets, they are invoices. Referring to them as parking tickets, PCNs, penalties or anything else, is misleading.

    "Contravention"
    "Regulations"

    Poppycock !

I would suggest writing to their legal department - Head of Legal Services.

I live quite close to this place, it used to be called 'The McDonalds University' which was very amusing. I always imagined people were in there receiving Bachelor of Arts degrees in burger flipping.
