One question though, the parking ticket was issued earlier this year from a Northampton private parking company called SRE Parking Enforcement LIMITED and this subsequent letter, threatening County Court proceedings within 14 days, was from SRE Parking Enforcement (ie not Ltd). Companies House site says the company was 'struck off - dissolved' in May 2009. However, they are still using the company number on their letter dated Oct 09.
Along with the legal issue above, is SRE PE allowed to follow up on tickets in the name of SRE PE Ltd?
They also have a BSI and UKAS logo on their letterhead, although I can't find the BSI logo as it appears on the BSI website, ie it appears but is of a different design.
Just wondered...
Just don't concern yourself with all the ins and outs of the above. Just ignore any other correspondence from them. They will soon leave you alone. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

None of this matters. Its a scam. Have a good read on here about PPCs, it will put your mind at rest. Don't contact them, don't send them any "evidence" for them to laugh at, don't pay them, just ignore.0 -

Meanwhile I would ignore any letters I had received from a non-existent entity that does not exist in law and so cannot sue you..0 -
Hi
Reading through I am in similar position to most where the PPC have requested my details from the DVLA and I have now received my letter threatening court action, balifs etc if I dont pay up. I want to take the advice of most and ignore it but was wondering if anyone had any dealings with the company 'vechicle controlled services ltd, VCS' ?0 -
Hi all,
Can someone please clarify the "I was not the driver and I don't have to tell you who was" part of the article, as right now I've got a debt collection company on my back telling me that I may not have to tell them who the driver was, but that I'll have to tell the judge when they start court proceedings..... Is this true or just another scare tactic?
Cheers :-)0 -

A ppc will send an invoice to the RK of a vehicle who is not nesessarily the driver so its always best to use the third person when asking for help on a forum, less chance of is being possibly used against the poster.
If (extremely unlikely) they do take anyone to court is quite unlikely that the judge will ask you outright who the driver was. If they did then you would have to answer truthfully. Bearing in mind the extreme unlikelyhood of them taking anyone to court then its just another tool in their box of scare tactics.
Does this help?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Yes it its just a scare tactic. And it would be an abuse of the court system. The era of identifying someone 'on the day' is long gone.
It is very good of this company to provide you written evidence that they intend to abuse the court system.0 -

Let me Google that for you (first result, Consumer Action Group is helpful):
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Vehicle+Control+Services
Or search on MSE using the search facility at the top of this page, but make sure you get the name right: Vehicle Control Services
- or search on the parking tickets advice forum at pepipoo:
search result from pepipoo for 'Vehicle Control Services'
