I now have letters from a bailiff and solicitor. When will they give up?
Probably one more "solicitor's" letter to go.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Yep, a solicitor threatening court and a debt collection agency (Roxburghe)0

If you do a search of this board for Roxburghe or for the Solicitor's name, you will find that you are near the end of their threats. There will be no bailliff, no Court and and no CCJ.
Others have reported 2 letters from the Solicitor and then that's it, they give up.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

After reading posts on here i decided to ignore all subsequent correspondance , however i have just recived a letter from a debt collection agency (roxburghe) which is based in surrey (originally letters came from sheffield) demanding i pay £160 (original debt was £80)
They say that if i dont pay the will pass the matter to their solicitors (graham white) who will review my case for potential legal action.
Should I just ignore this letter as well ???[/QUOTE]
Yep, ignore.
AFAIK you are near the end of your scam letters as I think they may throw in the towel after their 'debt collector' and 'solicitor' letter headings fail to impress/scare you enough to pay.
Same answer to everyone else who has a private parking ticket. Don't be surprised or scared of each letter as it arrives and looks like they are threatening Court. That's all they can/will do, threaten Court - they won't actually take you to Court.
Many thanks for the advice , However they dont seem to be going away and this afternoon I recieved a phone call from graham whites solicitors . I refused to confirm my postcode and told them I would not be paying their unenforceable invoice and that i had taken advice on the issue and they would have to take me to court for the money .
Im getting a little bit worried now as they do not seem to be giving up , am i still doing the right thing ???0 -

You are doing fine (excuse pun). The end play is never going to be easy, so stick in there and continue to deny you owe them anything.0 -

Don't let them get to you, believe me they WILL go away when they realise they are not getting anywhere. If they phone again just say "Hang on I'll go and get him" then leave the phone while you read a book / have your dinner / go to the pub etc. They will soon get fed up.0
