Safely ignore it! Its not a fine, you never agreed to anything, how do they know you were even driving. Its the usual intimidatory letter from CP Plus like here. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

They can state whatever they want to on signs doesn't make it any more enforceable. Just relax and don't fall for the trick!

    From the centre website!

"Car parking at Cameron Toll couldn't be easier, with over 1,200 free spaces in secure car parks, which surround the centre".

As for the DVLA if I had your reg No for £2.50 I could find out your name and address. This means nothing adds no credibility at all. Relax!;)
  • ooh great, thank you. very helpful link as well. and so quick! Thanks :)

heston service station on the M4

Private = ignore, ignore, ignore some more.

Yes really, ignore everything from them and they will send you some letters which sound dreadful and then they will disappear up their own backsides, never to be heard from again.

    Yes, that's right...just ignore.

!!!!!! do not write to them.

    Relax and ignore.

Read the stickies on this board.

Oh, and have I mentioned to ignore everything???

hi there, I've looked and done a search of this thread and not found a similar problem, so apologies if its already been answered - I just want to be sure as I can't afford the fine plus admin charges, as has been threatened.

I spent 4hrs at heston service station on the M4 and have received a £50 fine thru the post from CP Plus private parking firm. It was dark and I didnt see any signs, however they must be there as they state in the 'parking charge notice':

"In accordance with the terms & conditions clearly and prominently displayed and agreed to when your vehicle parked on our clients private property the payment of £80 is required within 28 days"

Should I still ignore this 'invoice'?

If they state on signs that I have to pay then surely I have to pay... My argument is that I didnt expect to be charged there so I didnt look around for signs - but that wouldnt hold up in court! The signs must be there.. are they still legally wrong? Shall I just ignore it?

    Thanks

You searched only this particular thread? Do you know there are hundreds of parking threads, many about CP Plus and MOTO Service stations?

Whole board here, stickies at the top, threads go back many pages:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

The stickies show you the letters you will receive from debt collectors (safely ignore them) and you will also find a link to Watchdog (good advice about what to do with that bogus PCN).

Nothing will happen to you, no effect on credit rating. IGNORE.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    lolol :rotfl:

and coupon-mad - I was directed to this thread alone by the article about it on the main site, therefore i was not aware there were more. even after signing up.
    thanks for your help.
  • Hi Last year my wife got a ticket from Local parking securtiy ltd  (a pub car park that was boarded up at the time). I have been ignoring the letters as suggested. I have now received a letter from Geoffrey parker bourne solicitors saying final chance to pay not paying may result in court action. Should I continue to ignore these letters?

    Kind regard

Yes, just keep ignoring. It looks as though you are getting close to the end of this farce.

Ooooh that's a new letter we haven't got in our Hall of Shame on the top sticky thread! Whole board here, see 'PPC letters, what to expect':

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163

Any chance you can scan in your LPS bogus PCN and all the letters in order as a reply on that thread, please (not here)? Remove all ID details first and if unsure about anything please send a pm to Crabman by clicking on his name on that thread.

It would really help newbies to show all known letters. :T

Not that they will really do Court - note the use of the word 'may' - these PPCs just use debt collectors and cheap Solicitor's batch letters to scare people...isn't it a shocking cowboy industry?

A boarded up pub car park! Hmmm what would be the loss to the owners there I wonder.
