Agreed I think he needs to rethink that, and say in almost all occasions totally ignorance is best!0 -
CAG have changed their tune as well. They are now recommending sending this to a PPC:-
Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your letter dated XXXXXXXX.
I do not agree that I am indebted to you in anyway.
If you believe that I am then please will you supply me with full details of the basis upon which you say that an obligation exists.
For the avoidance of doubt, please note that nothing which I receive from you will be treated in confidence even if correspondence which you send to me is marked "confidential".
Yours faithfully
Speaking personally I think CAG are wrong, and the "completely ignore" strategy is a much better idea. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I can't see why anyone would bother wasting paper and envelope and a stamp on these people.0
-
Actually it's only the Site Team that are recommending this (albeit not particularly enthusiastically) similar to MSE Martin's stance, ie a sort of ultra conservative strategy
but ordinary users unanimously still advise 'ignore'0 -
Well ignoring has worked in tens of thousands of cases, why change something that works?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
I just wanted to add my outcome of a previous message....
I got a ticket from a private car park back in September/October (I had bought a ticket, but it flipped upside down when I shut my door)......4 months later, not heard a peep!
After coming here in despair really, not knowing how I was going to pay the £70+ fine, and discovering that the best thing to do is NOT TO MAKE ANY CONTACT, I was a bit worried, but SO glad I took the advice!
Awful thing that they charge such ridiculous amounts of money (nearly two days at work in my case!), so stick to your guns and don't be worried into paying it!

I think the authors thinking was in the case of the PPC actually taking you to court! Seeing 99.99% don't I think it is better to fight back if they did, rather then argue the toss for nothing!0 -
I recently left my car in a car park that allows 1hr 20mins for parking. I had to return early with my youngest child as he was unwell. The reason I went back to the car, was because I thought if the traffic warden came round I could explain and he could clearly see that my little one was sick. No one came round and once my son had stopped being sick, we went home.
But because it was a Parking Eye Car Park (I didn't realise) it wasn't manned and therefore just registered when I entered and left the car park.
They are now charging me £80 for overstaying my welcome and say that my reason is not sufficient and I have to prove by receipts that I shopped there!
Can anyone advise what I'm best to do???
THANK YOU0 -

Yes simply ignore them Parking eye are toothless clowns. You made the mistake of appealing which is a total sham. Their not worried about an ill child, only conning money from you. You will receive further demands from them and then from maybe a debt collector, which is normally the next desk in their portacabin!
Then they will cease and crawl back under their stone! They will move on to the next person hoping they will pay up.
I and a few others here have actually baited Parking spy to take us to court! So far no one has been taken up on their offer!;)
And they have a lovely collection of white feathers!:p0 -
IGNORE THEM.
Its unlikely that even showing them receipts will enable them to accept your appeal, after all they do want your money.
As you want it more ignore their pleas.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
