Yes, ignore them. Get pics of the sign for safety but as you are a member and it only says "for members only" they are stuffed if they ever tried to take it further. Also the RK was not there at the time so that route is closed for them. Do not contact them, do not phone them, do not acknowledge them in any way.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Don't pay them a penny of course, as the driver you breached no contract (and even if you had they wouldn't actually take you to Court so you are safe either way to ignore them).
You MUST tell the registered keeper that private parking is a cowboy industry who operate by sending unenforceable debt collector letters to scare people. They must ignore said letters. They can see all the letters in pictures on our sticky thread 'PPC letters, what to expect' and they can also find another thread, also by the same poster (Crabman) with a youtube link to Watchdog's advice from May about this generic scam industry and what to do with such a bogus PCN.
The sticky threads are at the top of the forum board (just don't read the ParkRight sticky as that's not relevant but ALL the other threads are unless they are about Council 'real' PCNs). Read on down until you know enough and feel confident to ignore the parking company and to inform the owner/keeper about the real situation with those scary letters:

Absolutely do NOT allow the keeper/owner to pay this fake ticket. It's not a hire car is it?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Was this a private parking company or the council? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Below is a quote from a CAB report concerning "civil recovery" companies going after alleged shop-lifters. :-
"In shoplifting-related cases, the sum demanded is usually a pre-determined, ‘fixed sum’ such as £87.50, £137.50 or £150, plus the value of any goods or cash not recovered intact for resale (often given as ‘nil’)"
"But among the more than 10,000 such cases dealt with by Citizens Advice Bureaux since 2007, including more than 300 cases examined in detail by Citizens Advice, there is one common feature: if the sum demanded is not paid, the threatened county court action does not materialise. And the most prolific civil recovery agent – Retail Loss Prevention – has confirmed that it has never successfully litigated a fully contested county court claim in respect of an unpaid demand...."
That could equally apply to PPC's and their hollow threats about court action. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Yeah, but the difference is that the shoplifting scum SHOULD have to pay.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0

I said alleged shoplifters. If they were guilty, why weren't they prosecuted by the police, and why don't the civil recovery companies take them to court? They are acting as judge and jury without the accused person being able to put their side of the story. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
