For peace of mind [not a bit of brain]...ignore, ignore, ignore some more.

I don't belive it's an endemic problem, but what practical solution is there to predicaments such as the one experienced by the elderly pensioner as reported in this article?

It seems The DM hasn't reported all the relevant facts.
More on this story, with video, in the local Bristol Evening Post newspaper/website.

  • My nan is disabled, and in a wheelchair. One of her carers took her to a local retail outlet last week and without realising, stayed 10 minutes over their allocated 3 hours in the disabled parking bay. However, the weather was terrible and the ticket must've flown off the car. The carer then received a fine in the post, with extra payment for not paying in time. Unfortunately, I didn't find out about this until Sunday when I went to see my nan, but I told her (from info I've read on here) that this was unenforcable, and shouldn't have been paid (my nan paid half as she felt guilty).............. Isn't 10 minutes over a little bit to keen????
  • I did tell her that on Sunday, but at 90 in a couple of weeks, she tends to believe what appears to be 'official', rather than me! I think it's shocking for just 10 minutes over, and especially in a disabled bay.

    Shameful.

Parking Eye are fully aware of that. This from their website:-

There are no concessions for Blue Badge holders, as a Blue Badge only relates to Council / Local Authority parking areas, not private land.

Worth quoting if you are a disabled driver who gets a ticket for parking in a supermarket disabled bay without showing a blue badge.
  • Hi

I have been issued a PCN for not displaying my ticket correctly. I sent a copy of the ticket to show that I had indeed paid and appealed against their decision. However, they have declined and insist I still need to pay? Whilst the ticket may have not been clear for them to read, I feel sending them a copy of payment should end any dispute they may have? If I ignore the letter, can I end up with a CCJ against me? What are my rights? I have looked at various bloggs but a lot are out of date.

Thanks to anyone who can help.:T

First we need to know if this was issued by a council a private company. If the latter, could you name the company please.
