okallofyou wrote: »Hi, I have received a letter from Civil Enforcement Ltd dated 02/10/10 regarding parking at Mcdonalds. My car is a company car so all letters go to my head office and then are forwarded to me.
I was 6 & 1/2 minutes over the 75 minute limit in a Mcdonalds/BP service station. Admittedly I did not see the signs but going back today to check they are there.
I am not sure what to do as the advice on here is to ignore them but I know my company will receive all letters first and the Company Car Policy requests that all fines are paid by the driver.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Tell the company it's not a fine (for it certainly is NOT). Only the Police, Council or Railway (under a genuine byelaw) can issue an enforceable penalty notice that would result in a fine.
This is a Parking Charge Notice = a scam the driver can safely ignore.
Show them a printout of the Fleet News article linked on that other thread.
Show them if they still think it's an issue, the Watchdog programme linked on other threads. This con has been exposed on TV, in the press and on internet forums like this and the more people and Fleet Managers who are aware of it the better.
Finally tell them the driver IS indeed the only person remotely responsible if any contract law is alleged and if the scam ever resulted in a Small Claim; so the company has nothing at all to worry about. If the company wants to and you don't mind, let them tell the scammers who was driving so all the letters go to you instead. But do tell them it's just as easy to file them in a drawer marked 'ignore, paper aeroplanes' (see the Watchdog clip).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, I'm in a state of shock after receiving a PCN £120 (£60 if paid within 14 days) fine for not paying the congestion charge in London. I drove to london on Sunday of the bank holiday weekend and left at 10am tuesday morning, parking in Bayswater. The hotel staff assured me that the CG didn't apply on weekends and bank holidays, and that you only paid for entering the CG zone, not leaving it. So as I entered at weekend I didn't think I had to pay. There are no signs that I saw advising you to pay upon leaving the zone. Have I any way of appealing the notice?
If I appeal, will the 14 days half price 'offer' be suspended?0 -
Have you tried google or the TFL website??Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0

hahgiwoofa you might be better to start another thread as this one is meant for Private Parking Tickets discussions.
You may get a better response if you start a "London Congestion Charge" or similar, thread0 -
Erm! not sure how to do that but will give it a go - thanks x0

My daughter visited her dad and stopped overnight there. She parked in a bay that said VP (visitor parking). Next morning she had been issued a ticket. Her dad rang up and was told that you need a permit to park in the bays between the hours of 3am and 5am and that letters had been sent to residents. He rents the place from hyde housing and has never recieved a letter about this.he appealed and told them that he was unaware of this and that there were no signs stating this where she was parked. On further investigation her dad has seen signs that are attached to lampost around but none in the area she was parked. We have a photo to show. Is there a law that signs have to be displayed within a certain distance of where she was parked or should we just pay ?0

You should just do nothing from now on.
Ignore all correspondence and file it away.
Out of interest what is the amount of the invoice?0 -

Unless its from a council, if it says parking charge notice on the ticket , just ignore utterly, if penalty charge notice, come back as you need other advice.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
is says ' This private parking ticket has been issued by a operative of OPC whilst parked or stopped within the area under patrol by OPC. OPC act on behalf of the land owner or their representative, to perform parking restiction enforcement.0
