I think that was my letter four, where bailiffs and CCJ warnings were bandied about should I lose the imminent court proceedings, etc. It's not easy because if you're an honest person like me, who simply doesn’t deal with this sort of horribleness on a daily basis, the impulse is to get rid of the hassle hanging over you because of letters with your name on it! But remember these letters are aimed at their implied guilty person without any proof whatsoever!

That's what happens with a lot of these...the wife/husband panics and the OH pays for a quiet life.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Yes, I agree - but I do hope that no-one who has had our advice has just paid because the OH is panicking!
When I got my ticket last year, I had to spend 15 minutes explaining to my OH about the scam (which I already knew about from here). He still panicked a bit when he saw the 'debt collector' letters, but in the end he saw that nothing happened. So much so that he even happily gave another friend some advice and a link to pepipoo when she got a scam fine at Asda!
The advice here is to ignore - and it is rock-solid advice.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi
Received a invoice dec 09 from excel parking for £60 for parking without a valid parking ticket on private land where there a signs for parking with valid ticket only.
1. I have 14 days to pay the ticket.
2.They have the details of the car owner from DVLA.
3.The current keeper was not the driver at the time of the alleged offence.
4.A CCTV camera shows the car entry and exit time a period of 15 mins in total.
5.No ticket was issued to the car only a letter and cctv picture showing entering and exiting the car park.
6.The pay meter on site require you enter the reg when parking.
7. Additional action will follow if the amount is not paid within 14 days
Am I or the person liable to pay this ticket is it enforceable? or
Should I just ignore the ticket?
Thanks

1. I have 14 days to pay the ticket. Or, to put it another way, you have 140,000 days NOT to pay the ticket
2.They have the details of the car owner from DVLA. So what? They don't have the driver's name
3.The current keeper was not the driver at the time of the alleged offence. As above
4.A CCTV camera shows the car entry and exit time a period of 15 mins in total. Irrelevant
5.No ticket was issued to the car only a letter and cctv picture showing entering and exiting the car park. Also irrelevant
6.The pay meter on site require you enter the reg when parking. You should have keyed in Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo - Oscar Foxtrot Foxtrot
7. Additional action will follow if the amount is not paid within 14 days Yes, they will send you increasingly threatening letters with red writing from bogus solicitors. Then they will give up and try to scam some other mug
Am I or the person liable to pay this ticket is it enforceable? No, and No
Should I just ignore the ticket? Yes

I parked in Romford last May and when I returned to the car I noticed a "penalty notice" affixed to my car. I had bought a ticket and when I opened the car I saw that the ticket had blown off of the dash. The ticket did not have a sticky panel so I couldn't stick it to the window.
No problem I thought! - I will write enclosing a photocopy of the ticket and MET(who issued it) will cancel the "fine" of £50.00. No such luck - their replies to my letters became increasingly intimidatory (court action, bailiffs, credit rating etc..) I followed advice from your site as I knew I was in the right.
MET started to add "admin charges" so by last November they were threatening action over an amount of £150.00.
I thought I would add my own charges so I wrote to them stating that I would be levying charges of £150.00 for receiving, reading and replying to each of their letters from now on, I also enclosed an invoice stating that my payment terms were 14 days from postmark. By January I had invoices outstanding off £300.00. I stated that I was willing to cancel their debt to me only if they conceded that the original "fine" was wrongly issued.
I received a letter fron MET last week conceding that they were in the wrong to issue the "fine" in the first place!0 -
Not a method that I would endorse.0

Have you canceled yours?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
