Please please help! I am a student at my local college and they have a pay and display scheme. I have always been strict at adhering to the rules but on this occasion however, I did not have a valid ticket on display but an old one. I did get a ticket (which i could send as evidence) but not in view at the time that the parking ticket was issued. The reason that I am so fuming, is that literally two spaces away, my friend hadnt got a ticket in her car, and she was there all day even longer than I was and did not receive a ticket so they were obviously just picking and choosing random cars. There were many many other cars surronding mine without tickets either there were only a couple of us who seemed to have been targeted. Also, signs clearly state cars must be in designated bays only, however TWICE I have been held up 20 mins by having to complain that cars were fully blocking me in that were not parked in bays at all. No punishment was issued to these cars on either occasion. What should I do?? t is a BPA ticket and is for £60. How on earth are students supposed to be able to just fork out £60 these prices are extortionate. If its not paid within 14 dyas it increases. It also says on grounds of appeal, if not all criteria are met they will ignore your letter- one of the criteria is to send the payment. I cannot afford this and do not want to cave in with payment. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!0

Hi all,
I got a ticket today from University. Uni Security staff issued the ticket, but under the umbrella of Car Parking Partnership, and it's one of the CPP's Civil Parking Notices that was left on my windscreen.
Firstly, it was for not displaying a ticket. I had displayed a ticket, granted it had slipped down the dashboard slightly - but didn't think to take pictures.
Secondly, do I ignore it or pay up? I reckon a £70 fine (£35 if within 14 days) is a hugely disproportionate sum of money for a student to have to pay on their own campus. They say that they'll contact the RK (not me), and that they "reserve the right to sue for a greater sum where the company deems it appropriate to recover costs." I'm not sure what these costs would be, especially as they're outsourcing the legwork to university staff.
Would really appreciate any info.

My sister, 21, parked today on a private road after not seeing the signs, due to being in a rush having to get home to look after my little brother, 14, who is on crutches due to a sprained ankle, to run the family business (our mother is away in America on business) and the animals (part of the business).
After being away from the car for less than 40 minutes, she came back to find it hooked up to a tow truck, though not on the truck, just with the cable attached. The company, National Parking Management, said they couldn't release the car without a payment of £250 in cash, or £265 on card. With the other option having the car towed, costing over £700, and having her responsibilities to get back, she felt obliged to pay (in cash) and got the car back and a receipt.
I feel that the amount she has paid is wildly extortionate, seeing as a parking space on the road costs £200 pa for workers, that, coupled with the fact she is currently out of work having only recently gradated with an overdraft of over £2000 and a £30000 student loan to pay back, means that this is a £250 that should not have been spent.
She accepts that she shouldn't have parked there, but was unaware at the time having not seen the signs due to being 'flustered'
Any help gratefully received!

Really? Fixation with university students Perky?
If your post is real then it's bad timing, sorry! Assuming you are for real then you/your sister should post on pepipoo.com and get advice about suing the PPC leeches for her money back.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

100% real, just bad timing I guess! Thanks for your advice, on the site now!
Cheers again,

Now surely demented loser Perky and his bunch of thicko cohorts would not try to jam up these boards with ridiculous, timewasting posts. Only a true saddo would do such a thing. Then again this site must be really hurting if the PPC morons spend their time engaged in this kind of silliness. And after the clamping plans outlined today, which will be considerably toughened up by the tories, the illiterate thugs will be facing further challenges. I guess they can always resport to mugging, they have had a fair bit of practice after all.0
