I know that a lot of people will by buying their birds fresh and already have them ordered but for those of us who buy them frozen.. PLEASE get them soon. I know there seems to be a lot of them right now but there is a shortage this year. Remember we had the bird flu outbreak? Then a fortnight ago the turkey farmers went on strike. Get your turkeys!!
The cheapest I have seen is Asda but I am not sure if anyone else can find one cheaper. I know they was doing the cheap crowns in Aldis but I can't be bothered to travel there LOL
for the first time ever, we're getting 2 large free range chickens! we've all admitted we prefer chicken to turkey anyway, and it's always such a faff trying to cook it thoroughly without it drying out etc... that it seemed like the only sensible option for this household  not only that, but for the last few years it's cost us well in excess of £45 for a free range local turkey! this year, with 2 free range chooks it'll be £15 - £20 maximum! :beer:0 -
We talked about getting a turkey for Christmas, but everyone seems to prefer beef - in fact, were a bit horrified at the suggestion of turkey - so I guess it's beef for our house this year again.
Yay - my £40 from cashbackkings finally went through - so I quickly sent that off to my bank account. Now I just have £50 from Quidco I'm still waiting on. I'm trying to think of the best way to save money for next Christmas - putting a certain amount aside each month sometimes gets to be a bit of a frustration as stuff comes up - I'd rather do it by using vouchers and such so it's free - so I'm going to take an hour or so this weekend and write down the different sites I want to work with to earn vouchers - pigsback has been a disappointment thus far, but I'll take another look at it just in case. Can't believe I'm already thinking about 2009 Christmas.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
