I am going to a fancy dress party with my OH. I have never met any of the other people there, and it is 70s fancy dress. I'm freaking out about going badly enough because I know no one else and have the whole "will they judge me" paranoia....never mind going in blooming fancy dress. Anyone got any ideas for how I can look 70s without actually being in complete 70s fancy dress? I am NOT up for a wig!!! and I am not super skinny so all the hotpants seem to be out, as do tight flares! What is the difference between fashion in 60s and fashion in 70s??

Instead of leaving early like a sensible person, I stayed here and spent 40 quid on lingerie from La Senza. My only defence is that it should have cost almost 60 but there's 40% off, and I get 12% Quidco.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -

Jammy I think we must be the same age(ish) as when I was little I used to have the most amazing pair of cycling shorts that I adored.. different neon coloured legs.. and colour changing t-shirts.. especially by 'Joe Bloggs' were the hottest things going. Do you remember wrap around sun glasses and bum bags? LOL When I went to a seventies party I bought a reel of sequins and sewed tacked them down the seam of my flarey bootcuts. I had a one sleeved top and a baker boy hat. Have you got any of these crazy things lying about? Don't forget the bug eye shades
:D

Ok, So I said I would be staying away from here but I just had to come on this morning and check you was all OK. I don't know what is going on with me but usually I hate mornings. Now.. I am outta bed and dying to check our thread
What is going on with vote for me as Post of the month!!:oYou will all be so sick of voting for me soon LOL.
I can't even tell you the way I felt this morning when I read that you wanted to vote me for post of the month. I will sound like a saddo now but I'll confess anyway.. I always wanted friends that did this sort of thing for me. Friends who you don't have to ask to support you and friends who take the time to notice when you are not around.
I want to say thank you to everyone because you have made this Christmas feel amazing for me and I am so thankful to have met friends like you. i really mean it. I have never gelled with anyone like we have on this thread x:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0
