B & Q are not accepting Kingfisher vouchers now. but giving customers a free phone no.0

No necessary. Tesco/Sainsbury is less likely to go down compared to issuer of Love2shop (Park Group). So, it depends.
You could have harrods vouchers if you wanted too,if the company goes bust who is running/handling the money the vouchers will be worthless.
Best put your money in an account for the year and hope the bank doesn't go.0 -
Hi all,
Five Live are doing a piece on Woolworths & Kingfisher vouchers and are urgently looking for case studies to talk on the radio in the next hour. If you're interested in speaking please call the reporter Adam Kirtley to discuss it.

(Don't worry you won't be straight on air!) This is urgent though so you need to ring by 12pm Friday 19 Dec.

I have just returned from woolies. Was able to spend £50 of vouchers on £42 worth of goods, and got change in cash. However, Of the three girls behind the till, 2 thought they could accept them and the third said not. (claimed they had not been associated with kingfisher for about 10 years)!0

Hi
I have £30 of Zavvi vouchers that we won on a quiz night in November that I was going to save until the slaes! I had completely missed somehow any news on Zavvi until today. My local store is still open. They have said they cannot accept vouchers. As these vouchers have been paid for to use as cash in the store are they able to refuse them? If so is there any legal way of getting cash back. At the end of the day it was a prize so it is not a huge loss personally, I am just curious.
Thanks
Ori
Stop press: Just spoke to Zavvi head office. Apparently they will be putting out a statement on the website later today. The guy I spoke to sounded very down in the dumps... understandably I guess. Not good news the day before christmas!0 -

If the stores arn't accepting vouchers then the only way you can get the money from them is to apply to the administrators but you will be at the bottom of a very long list as Banks and Suppliers will come before you so you will be unlikely to see the money.
There was an article I read somewhere that Zavvi were trying to ringfence the money that had been paid for gift vouchers so that customers wouldn't lose out if they did go into adminstration. It could just be that they have told the stores not to accept vouchers yet until everything is finalised. Similar things happened when MVC and Music Zone went into adminstration, there was a short time when they would accept vouchers but then they stopped. You will just have to keep checking as it could be they will accept them one day and then stop again the next.0 -
This might answer your question
. Customer Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I have a Zavvi gift voucher, can I redeem it?
It is expected that all customers who purchased zavvi gift vouchers from zavvi stores from 27 November 2008 will receive a full refund in respect of the unredeemed value of the gift vouchers. Unfortunately, it is not possible for vouchers to be redeemed in stores.
All customers who have unredeemed vouchers acquired since 27 November 2008 should write to the Joint Administrators at the following address, quoting their voucher number(s), enclosing the original voucher(s) and quoting their full name and address for return correspondence:
zavvi Vouchers
c/o The Joint Administrators of zavvi Group
Ernst & Young LLP
100 Barbirolli Square
Manchester
M2 3EY
We recommend that customers keep a copy of vouchers for their records.
Regrettably, it will not be possible to refund vouchers acquired prior to 27 November 2008. Customers with unredeemed vouchers acquired prior to 27 November 2008 should write to the Joint Administrators at the above address, asking for their claim to be registered as an unsecured claim.
Please note, due to the large volumes of vouchers that are currently outstanding it is not possible to discuss individual customer queries in person at this stage.0 -

IMHO -- Based on my Experience -- Avoid Voucher Schemes Altogether in Present Retail Climate
Update on KINGFISHER GIFT VOUCHERS
Flogistics -- a Woolworhs Group company issues the KINGFISHER GIFT VOUCHERS (KGV's) Woolworths Group (and therefore Flogistics) is NOT in administration.
Woolworths PLC which owns UK stores IS in Administration.
Woolworths actually gave cash for them without any purchase, yesterday -- Christmas Eve.
They cannot give credit, so HAVE TO return cash.
Ask for store manager if any problems.
Neither Bent&Questionable (A KINGFISHER GROUP Company!!) nor Comet (Ex Kingfisher Group) will accept KGV's
I am now banned from all Woolworths stores! --I have an illegibly signed, by a 'manager', letter dated 15th December to this effect.
Only got it on Tue 22 Dec. - Bit pathetic really.
I just can't imagine that the Woolworths stores BAN will be changing my life all that much though.
Ho! Ho!0 -
Why do people bother with vouchers anyway ? How about instead of throwing away £10 or more to spend in one shop and one shop only just give them the cash that they can use however they like ? All seems crazy to me.
Why bother? -- Well there are ways of buying vouchers at a 'discount' thereby getting maybe a 10% discount on the purchase that is being made without any need for 'haggling' --- :T
However it is obviously all a bit of a gamble, as the backing for vouchers is quite clearly not quite as good as the backing from the good old Bank of England for their vouchers usually referred to as for example £20 pound notes which 'promise to pay the bearer on
etc! :xmastree: :xmassign: :xmastree: :santa2: :santa2:0
