  • My daughter works at Woolworths and they have stopped selling the vouchers and giftcards as the future is uncertain
  • This might sound like a silly question...............

But i went to woolworths a couple of months ago and brought my mum for some pizza express gift cards for xmas. are these fine? or are these affected??

i am only worrying because i brought them from woolworths, so does the money just get transfered to pizza express?
  • Only a few days ago I found a paper £10 Woolies voucher and was kicking myself, as I didn't realise their stores were still open. Will be going to my local one tomorrow and getting £10 worth of Christmas pressies :)

Strange, belly100donna - I telephoned their Head Office Customer Services (0870 411 7112) and was told that they would accept mine -though I didn't need to worry as the supplier has offered to exchange them for vouchers i can use elsewhere.:j
  • Just to clear things up, I am a manager for woolworths... although woolies vouchers have been removed from sale, we are still accepting kingfisher vouchers as well as woolworths vouchers for the duration of the administration period. PS up to 50% off sale now on provisionally ending sunday... spend your hard earned cash to save our jobs!!

have never heard of love2shop... presumably if they themselves went under your vouchers would not be accepted by the shops

Love2Shop vouchers are owned by Park Group Plc (Park Christmas Savings). Park are a founder member of the Christmas Prepayment Association along with Variety Christmas Savings Club Limited.

Furthermore, the Post Office are now a member of the Christmas Prepayment Assocation (CPA) also.

All members must adhere to a strict code of practice and saving is very much improved for consumers.

I discovered I always have choices and sometimes it's only a choice of attitude :j
  • Okay, so I rarely find anything in Woolies these days that's VFM but nevertheless a collegue and I decided to hit the Swansea store this week to buy docorations and a small tree to pretty the office up (in our own time of course and at our own expense!;) )

We wanted a very tacky pink plastic tree but there was only a display model left. We were quite prepared to purchase the display model at full price - a fiver but the rude supervisor and colleague refused our request. We mentiones that they would be unlikely to need the display model in the New Year and it would atleast put some money through to the Administrators to try and save the company.

If I knew how/where to contact the Administrators I would drop them an e-mail to highlight the lack of Christmas cheer in their Swansea store.

Anyone know who/where with an e-mail address?

PS Good luck in finding employment to all those losing their jobs at this time, including Woolies!

If these are like the pizza express gift cards we sell in the shop I work they are mostly electronic top up type cards run by a company like Blackhawk. They are instantly activated in store (assuming woolies followed the correct process) and woolies pay blackhawk for the top up. woolies collect a small commision and then blackhawk probably pays pizza express instantly collecting a small comission too.

So in answer to your question, woolies doesn't have the money guaranteeing the pizza express card, they simply sold it. Pizza express guarantee it so unless they go bust it is safe.
