right - that is EGG completely cleared! in jan I owed £3500 - on 0% - now it is completely gone. yippee.
gonna give them a call and cancel the card. that means I have only 2 loans to go.
cant remember the last time I had no CC debt!!!
have got my HSBC CC for emergancies - has only a £500 limit - but in all honesty I only use it for internet purchases then pay it off straight away via internet banking. have had this CC for 10 years! its an appalling APR but as I pay it off each time I keep it as it is with my bank and I can see it on my internet banking with all my other accounts.
feeling incredably positive this week. hopefully will be able to pay off TSB loan in the new year with my ISA savings and a cheque i've got coming for refund of tuition fees.
that just leaves the biggy! this will be my focus for next year. but at an interest rate of just 6.5% I need to work out the best way to do it.
    anyhoo - take care everyone
    and remember

    keep smiling :D

Thanks dragon!!! im raring to go !!!
  • Hello, would we be able to join too please?
    Current debt is:
£1032 on 0% credit card for next 8 months
    £6995 remaining on Halifax loan.

Am I right in thinking that if the loan had all the interest added on upfront, then the whole amount of any payment will now chip off this sum?? Think that's what they said on the phone...

If so, then we have £8027 to clear. Ideally this would be by Christmas 2009.
My partner works full time, I am due to graduate end of June so hope to be able to throw more at the debt each month from then. On the downside, our car is about to die and I will also need a car from June, hopefully no more than £800 each.

Once we have cleared the debt we can finish renovating our house. Our longish term goal is to then rent it out and move to australia for a few years (or permanently).

We have followed a lot of the advice on here and managed to reclaim PPI that we hadn't asked for which has been a great help. I also now do surveys and mystery shopping which helps towards extra payments.

I'd like to post a soa to get your thoughts and suggestions - should I post that here or on the main board?

Good luck everyone and hears to 2009

  • Well done on the payments everyone :T

Looks like I've got a surplus of £24 in my budget this month.. not sure where it came from  but I shall leave it til the end of next week before I pay it off anything... Just in case my figures are wrong.
£3.08 left from this weeks budget :o so that will be paid off something at the end of the week :)
