Mizmir, my debt aim for 2009 is to pay of my firstplus loan, currently standing at £13879, CC1 which has £85, CC2 which has £1125..so my total to pay off in 2009 is £15089

My plan at the moment is to pay my min payments each month as always, but pay any spare cash into a savings account I have that is not that easily accessable to stop temptation! Then when i have enough in to tackle a debt will pay it off.

My payments upto todays date is £7! Its a start anyway :money:

Have a nice weekend everyone, off to walk the pooch now :j
aim to be debt free in 2009.....total so far (24.01.09) £940.45/£15089:eek: ..on my way :money:

    Hi csarina

Welcome! Glad the post got through. Hve added you to the list - can you let me know what you want your total goal for this year to be? Wasn't quite sure from your post. Thanks.

I have tried several times to post on this , it goes into the ether, so this is the last try.

We will not be debt free by Dec 2009 but hopefully well on the way. We have two loans coming off one is July £160.95 a month and one in Dec £114.95. Then there is the car and the CC.

My plan is to double up the payment on the car in July. The £114.95 will then go againct the CC which is at 0% until August 2009. I will have to see if I can find another 0% deal or a low interest rate for the life of the balance.

Hopefully we will be debt free late in 2010...........

Our O/D which we has to run up when e unexpectedly moved should be clear by June 2009.

Could not make up my mind about the car, whether to save the dosh and pay it off when the two levels meet, or go the whole hog and double up the payments. Interest was front loaded so I guess doubling up the payments will make a difference?????? opinions please.

We have to be careful with savings, we are on HB and CTB and cannot have more than £6000 in savings, once we have paid off our debts I am going to put possibly £2500 each in cash ISA's. That way we can draw some of the interest and keep under the limit. I think we will be having a few slightly better holidays to use some of the cash.

Its been a hard slog....5 years in total....but we plodded, started off with over £30,000 of debt.

Hi Mizmar, Ideally I would like to clear around £5000.00 in the year, maybe more it just depends on our income for the year, will not know this until after April. OOOps forgot the car loan, if I do not double up the payments that will add another £2005.32, so I guess a total of just over £7000.00.

I have just found out today that we can in fact have £16,000 before we start to loose benefit.....thats a bit better.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Hey is it ok if i join? I have £22.795.99 of debt my debt free date is June 2014  it seriously cannot take me this long!
Im not too sure i can clear this much debt in one year but it is a challenge.
I was earning £20,000 a few months ago which is why i have that amount of debt because its for things like the dentists i could afford at the time and a car which i needed for my last job. Now im earning about £12,000 (temping agency) and suddenly i cannot really afford the things i am still paying off.
Anyway this isnt debt from me spending on stuff im not realising its from one started up business that failed another thats still going strong (but seasonal) my car is £8000 worth of this debt (finance) ect ect you get the idea.
I get paid weekly which is why i survive (just) my monthly payments. Jobs are hard to find and when i get an interview for a job that will put me back on the pay i was on the position gets withdrawn and the temping job is looking to end soon :o (gulp!)

On a more positive note the other day i received a £100 cheque from winning a prize draw, £10 from bingo and £35 from trading in my old mobile and going to receive shortly £50 from free scratch cards, all gone or going towards my debt.

So if possible id like to join you lovely people for some motivation and to kick the cr*p out of as much debt as i possibly can next year!
